It'll tick him over to next year the last year he's eligible for the last year he's eligible for the rookie list. Having good players on the rookie list is massive for depth whilst in a premiership window.

We'll negotiate a proper deal for him in the 2026/2027 off season like we did with Voss this off season and upgrade him to the senior list in 2028.

It happens every year. A fresh Jackson dominates against average opponents and we’re a better team with him as main ruck. But then when he tires and gets beaten by the big boys it’s crickets. How many games last year did we win by having both rucks wear down the oppo?

Not saying I’m sold on Darcy anymore considering he’s just never gotten back to full fitness, but it’s always just such a one sided argument.

My biggest concern would be how sustainable carrying a second ruck that plays 50% game time and has no second role would be over the course of a season.

A second ruck that plays only 50% in the ruck but can play forward would be more suitable when Jackson is the no.1 ruck as that second ruck could play forward say 20% of the time and give the KPFs a rest.

A 30 year old Mason Cox would actually be perfect but I'm not sure you get rid of Darcy when Mason Cox is 35.
