Player Watch #4: Aidan Corr

What's the club's motivation to lie in all this?

Because the club might not now, if it is a drug related issue it could be between the AFL and the medical officer, the club doctor would be prohibited from telling the club until a third strike.

Or it is a mental health problem, and the club knows, and they don't want to advertise it, even though we as in the AFL, the media and the industry is better on mental illness, if it is something like that and you have some kind of anxiety related issue, being in the spotlight probably wont help.

Whatever is going on though, it makes our medical staff look incompetent from the outside looking in. Whatever is going on, I find a 3-4 month infection problem being the least likely of the medical explanations we have been given to date.

Whatever is going on, I hope he is doing well and ends up healthy and happy irl. I mean, our season was over before it began, I'd rather he get whatever ails him right now while we are shithouse all over the park. If they are going to make up stuff, go for something like Ebola, not something you are meant to get over in 2 weeks.

I think you may be reading too much into it. Infections can be bloody tricky, and difficult to get on top off. I agree with your sentiment about wishing him all the best.

Infection seems like a bad illness to use as a cover story. The longer it goes the more speculation on not just when he gets back but if he might actually be in genuine deep s**t.

Tried and true 6 week rolling hammies is where it's at. Get close to the 6 week mark and bam, pulled it again at training or just a generic "setback".

Worked beautifully for Harley Bennell.

Yeah, they can be. Sure. He may have somehow stumbled on one of the extremely difficult to eradicate bacteria. But there hasn't been a mention of which bacteria he is being treated for. NOBODY in the media has ever asked the club during any of the media interviews. Holy s**t dude, this guy went down in March and it is almost July, are you guys ******* incompetent? Which mutant strain of bacteria has he been exposed to and where did he get it from? Are other players at risk if they break their skin?

There has been silence like when nobody asked the club anything about Shaw or the fiasco that was going on during our time in QLD and EVERYONE apparently knew what was going on.

I mean, not even one of the ambulance chasers has asked anything about this infection.

NEWS BREAK: Corr bitten by a fish and expected to miss some time. 4 months later... wouldn't someone want to know if it was a goldfish or a shark?

Fair enough. He's out, we are s**t, why stress about it?

LOL what a load of absolute ******* rubbish.

Yes, let's invent stuff for which there is absolutely no evidence and ignore everything that the club and Aidan has said himself. Occam's Razor ffs.

Well we wouldn’t have been as sh*t had he been healthy and playing. He is one of our highest paid players. He signed a 5 year deal. I think It’s fair to question the veracity of the injury given what appears on the outside looking in to be minor and not a typical footy injury

I'm not. I mean, even this year he is our third string tall defender, he wasn't even a speed bump in us getting hammered when he was playing so he can take as much time as he needs.

It has just become a running joke debunking our injury explanations. I mean, nobody gives a s**t about our club or who is playing, almost everyone has pencilled us in as a win last year when the schedule came out. If you can't be honest in your first spoon year in 50 odd years, when can you be?

We've questioned, it has been answered. I really don't understand why you feel entitled to more.

Which bacteria did he say he was infected with?

There has been video of him walking around in one of those shoes that is meant to keep weight off your toe (I didn't know such things existed) in the last month or so at training.

I had a mate get a staph infection after a motorbike accident (in the early 90s mind you so this s**t has been around for a while) and they kept him in hospital cutting flesh off his calf for months. In the end he got the shits and discharged himself, walked out of hospital and his bung leg (the only way they would let him leave was if he could walk on it) and treated it himself with fresh air, sunlight and colloidal silver. And a healthy diet.

He still has his leg but at the time they were talking about amputation.

If a zombie apocalypse takes place there is zero doubt in my mind that Corr is patient zero. It's either that or Corr was the one responsible for the Wuhan lab leak - the virus snuck out of the lab by way of Corr's big toe.

Today he broke the Guinness World Record for longest infection. Great achievement and one the medical staff should really be proud of.

I can’t believe some of the things that have been said on here.

Worse rumours being said off here. My info is it is a serious infection that is very worrying for all concerned. Hopefully the club will update members soon with some facts.

All I wish is the best for him.

No one is at fault and I think there are some very unfair criticisms on here. The medical staff are doing the best they can even with external specialists, it’s not just going to go away with a click of the fingers.

My mail is that it's a toe infection that will take awhile to get better.
