Review A Win’s A Win - Freo by Six In The ‘Away’ Game vs North

I suspect he's aware of this misnomer and over compensates - I noticed in his first year commentating he was more enthusiastic about Freo, and then it changed almost overnight. I imagined he was hauled over the keels by someone in a suit far too snug around the midriff.
Is this multiple boats Pav is being hauled under or a Proa type situation?

This Pav thing is quite hilarious

I was having a Quick Look on the Roos autopsy thread yesterday and a lot of them were banging on about how biased Pav was towards Freo

I think we hear what we want to a lot of the time

Personally I don’t really like him as a commentator, a bit too monotone .
Yeah agreed, West Coast regularly lose their sh1t about how biased he is towards Freo. Pav is ok on analysis but a boring voice and tendency to look to the worst scenario for Freo to appear unbiased, but if you listen closely you can definitely pick up when he is enjoying a Freo win or WC loss.

WC fans make me laugh after the Eagles dominating broadcasters for the past 30 years of such talent as Banfield, Kemp, Cousins, Suma, Wilson and Jackovich just to name some of the worst commentators of all time.

Treacy is being used further from goals. Linking up play and taking the contested mark at HF or wing. He is very good at the ground ball as well, being able to break tackles and deliver kicks to a leading forward. I dont think we will play Treacy, Voss and Amiss together inside the 50.

Treacy is playing a different role as you have pointed out. He is such a good mark, mobile, a very good field kick and defensively strong enough to be a real weapon for the team playing further from goal.

Voss has relished the opportunity to add his skills to the close to goal forward structure and is adequately covering for Treacy so far. The arrival Voss as a decent forward has given the team more flexibility.

Three out of our last four games have also been played in wet conditions and the forward structure has worked well with Treacy playing further from goal. In the GWS game Treacy dragged Sam Taylor out to the high half forward position. No Taylor's most natural position and a huge tactical win for Freo.

Credit to the Freo coaching staff for being flexible enough to utilise the skill set of the entire forward line to get a result rather than thinking Treacy must stay as the main forward.

Treacy, Voss and Amiss ultimate task is to collectively contribute to a winning bag.
A Coleman for any of them would represent the opposite of that approach.
The dynamic choreography of our forward troupe is exciting to watch...and very creative.
The paroxysmal celebrations of young Vossie are a particular highlight to savour!😉
Yokai!

I've been surprised at his lack of incisive comments. I remember him commentating with Simpson. It was like listening to a master and an apprentice at times

It is the kind of move I've thought Longmuir was unwilling to make. The (long awaited) changes to how Jackson is used as well.

I wonder how much of this has been triggered by Bolton coming in. Unpredictability is the right setting for Bolton to perform his moves.

I called the Treacy miss in the last quarter before he even started his approach. I sit behind those goals just beyond the point post and he was aiming straight at me. He then missed to that side with the ball landing close to me. It is such a simple thing that I have no idea why he couldn't have seen it himself before beginning his approach.
Right in front of ME! :)

Ur safe from Kelli...and no James Brayshaw either
BUT
I am an A Grade traitor for sayin this:
Pav waas aaaawful in the last few minutes
Repeat comments like 'North Melbourne just have to stay calm here' etc etc
Terrible reverse bias
I have to say, Pav is getting worse as a commentator. Think he needs to stick to the teleprompter

Worse than who exactly?
Get a grip.
Weve only got Pav and Belly in the commentary box.
They are never going to be snide, vindictive, take cheap shots, theyre just a bit cautious.
They both gave Freo their all and bleed purple!
How long do you think they would last if they started cheering?
It is the VFL after all.
Someone chipped Pav for not being as much across the game as Simpson?
Simpson was a master coach, Pav was a master player!
Matthew Pavlich is a Freo Legend!
