So, June premiers then? See you in September.

Would be happy to, we played possibly the worst game for a long time in June like you said.
Peaking now means nothing, September is where it matters.

I’m positive they can go again and give it a red hot crack.
The Cats record at the G over the past couple years is very very good, that’s where big Finals are played.
All they have to do is get there.

I was eagerly anticipating this match up all week long, and did not get to watch to this game until Friday evening (Los Angeles time). I expected that the Lions were going to offer resistance to the slew of recent losses and perhaps permit this particular match to be the directional change for the remainder of the season. But my goodness, I did not expect this performance. While a novice to the great game of footy, it was patently clear within the first 5 minutes that the Lions were going to give the Cats a thrashing which can also be attributed to the poor passing and timid contestations of possession by Geelong, especially during the first two quarters.

Brisbane clearly did their homework. I really enjoyed seeing how the Lions disrupted the transitional play of Geelong, never allowing them (Cats) to foment that crisp and seamless synergy from defense to offense. From my point of view - albeit an initiate's view - the Lions were stellar in foretelling the Cats' passing lanes and progression of play and outnumbering the Cats in possession contests. And the Lions, for some parts of the game, perhaps even a good stretch of the game, physically bullied the Cats. This was a dominant performance by the Lions and might just be an indicator of the real ferocity underneath the noise from some camps doubting the Lions ability to defend their Premiership.

I was thoroughly impressed with Brisbane.

The Lions really needed to win this game.
History was against us winning at Geelong but on the other hand you could say we were overdue.
A loss would have had us with 2 wins 1 draw and 4 losses in the last 7 with a tough run home
Instead, we are 3 w, 1 D & 3L slightly over 50% record. That relieves a bit of pressure going into the bye.

We played very well and took chances through the middle of a narrow ground.
It either pays off or you get thumped on turnovers.
Friday it paid off next time it may not.
Geelong was a bit off on their game and kicked like the Lions had done the previous 2 weeks that costs them wins.
So. the Lions know what bad kicking does to scoreboard pressure.

The Lions are still a bit of Jeckel and Hide side but hopefully we make top 4.
The Cats should also make top 4 possibly both are top 2 chances but a lot to unfold yet.

Got to halfway through the third quarter of the replay and realised why I went to the movies. Too good Brisbane.

Geelong supporter with nearly 50,000 posts on Bigfooty, most of those posts about Geelong too, but decided to quit Dangerfield's 350th... Decides to go to the movies instead. You do realise they replay the same movies everyday?

You do realise the replay the footy?

Patrick isn’t going to be waiting at my front door after driving interstate if I get home from the flicks having made a life decision to watch the kayo feed about 2 hours behind live, armed with a Negan-style baseball bat, standing there demanding to know why I didn’t watch the game live, yeah? And no, I don’t have a cinema where I live, but there is one where I work. So going to a movie on a Friday that’s scheduled immediately after my shift, for a single dad whose kids are away for the weekend, kind of, you know, makes sense?

What do you think people should do, mate, put their general life on hold in order to watch people kick footballs?

I suppose I should just, what, not do anything that isn’t related to watching live feeds of Geelong games, because I’ve posted a lot on BigFooty?

Btw, I’ve posted just as much on cricket but I’m not about to watch every single minute of every West Indies match as it happens, am I.

You might be keen to watch Nick Watson throw himself halfway to Peru via subterranean means in real time as it happens each week to demonstrate how much you love your team.

I’ll watch when I can be bothered, thanks. But taken under advisement. I’ll be sure to register my viewing times with you in future and do a post count to make sure I’m getting everything right.

The most startling thing for me about this game was that Jack Martin is still in the AFL.

If you don't want to watch people kick footballs then I suggest posting 50,000 times on bigfooty is probably not your thing either, nor is it if you want to spend more time with your family, but here you are.

Again, I do watch footy. I also watch it when I feel like it.
I’m a single dad and a f**king good one and the fact that I post a lot about cricket and football on a forum where it takes about 30 seconds to type a comment about a game I may be watching live, on replay, or a week after the event with or without the company of my children, or while I’m at work, or having coffee with some mates etc doesn’t change that and the laughable fact that some twit on the internet thinks that it does, is pathetic.

On your third paragraph unfortunately it isn't true. Geelong kicked 3.11 from set shots - most of them basic ones - and underperformed their expected score by 40 points. From memory that's the biggest discrepancy this season.

Still, it wasn't surprising because the field kicking was also shocking.
Brissy put you under intense pressure making it difficult to get clean kicks away. Actually a good learning game for Geelong giving them a good look as to what is needed this year for finals.
Brissy might have done you a favour.

For field kicking, yes. Well mostly. There were a lot of genuine unforced errors by Geelong as well, but I can accept that as inferred pressure.

For goal kicking we actually had a ridiculous amount of clean set shots with minimal angle. Mentally I think Brisbane had us after their hot start and so the Cats simply panicked with ball in hand.

Geelong can't afford these slack starts because you don't want to be pushing shit uphill with a 5 goal deficit for the rest of the game.

Calls other people twits (despite not knowing who they are), you respond to all my recent posts within minutes, like someone is calling 000, but claims he's got all this time and not checking the forum 24/7?

Disbelief No GIF

Yes. I know you’re a twit. You’ve just tried to assess someone based on whether they watch live sport or not and how frequently they discuss it, and whether they are free to go to a flick from time to time.

So now I can’t be sitting on the couch on my phone on a Saturday.

This is a new development. What other rules would you like to make. How often I use messenger? What I watch on YouTube? The questions I ask at trivia on a Thursday?

Is there anything else you would like to diagnose? No you sound very well adjusted.

Still here? Thought I'd help you out.

Thanks but I have other plans and both my footy teams have the bye and the test match is over.

For someone who posts only 4 less times a day than I do on average, and doesn’t seem to follow another sport closely - I follow two others - you are very picky and choosy about how others should use their spare time to discuss sport and when and where they should watch it.

Should I be buying tickets to fly down and watch the cats players go out for dinner one night this weekend?

Yet again you've fabricated something in your mind about me and are awfully off base.

But thanks for proving my OG point again here.

Ok mate. Well you keep trying to make whatever point it is you’re trying to make about what and when I should be watching, posting, and commenting, and I’m sure your rules will get set in stone at some stage after numerous re-draftings and I’ll be forced to adhere to them.
