I have a feeling the lack of communication is either tru blu or most likely the AFLs fault (I remember Ross saying something about how strict they were on putting out information back when Big Ant were making Live 1)

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say we’ll see something in the next few days and a release date in the first 5 rounds of the season, feel free to call me an idiot when we get to Monday and still haven’t heard anything 😂

Why does it really matter? I don't think they take fan suggestions on board. In the back of my mind, I'm being hopeful that the amount of time they don't talk and develop the game will make it superior. But then again, that's being far too optimistic. I don't think Wicked Witch are that much into AFL football. As Ross said, it's just another job for them.

It’s not so much them taking fan suggestions on board, as it is them actually telling us what’s going on, they’ve been silent for 3 months and the game is supposed to be out in like 4-5 weeks, at the very least we should be seeing more screenshots, video clips or some kind of an update as to when we might know the date

I don’t think we can take what Ross says on this matter as fact, he’s hardly unbiased in this discussion

Wouldn't trust Ross one bit matter of fact most of his employee don't either his game are rushed out and unpolished and every game seems to take a backfoot

We should all just work on creating a 2020 roster file for AFL Live 1. IMO it was the best game of the lot.

Maybe it's because my expectations are very low, but I don't understand this urgency to get an update all the time. I don't know many game developers that even do that, in the first place. They said they're tweaking things, moving to another engine. I'm sure they could just dump it out rushed for impatient fans. And their works speak for themselves. Ross points out things like the whistle being blown after a goal, which doesn't happen in footy. The reason they're the developers is because they were a cheaper alternative.

He gave examples and explanations as to why they're developing AFL games. A cheaper "budget sheet" alternative. I'm not a fan of Evolution 1, the movement and ai is inferior to AFL Live 1, which was 6 years older at the time.

We’re expecting an update now because the game is almost a year behind schedule and their last update said the game would release closer to the start of the season which is in like 3 or 4 weeks, are you trying to tell me that most game developers/publishers don’t give an update after 3 months of total silence and only 3 weeks out from their supposed release date ?

The whistle after the goal “fiasco” was from Live 2 which was a rushed mess, Ross has always been bitter about losing the AFL licence and while he had a point back then, I think it’s ridiculous to think that WW are still the cheap alternative when Evo 2 has been delayed by almost an entire year just so they can get it right, if all they cared about was “balance sheets”, then Evo 2 would’ve been out last year

I also think it’s worth pointing out that Big Ant seem to mostly publish their own games these days, so I doubt they’d work with tru blu on an AFL game, it seems it’s either Big Ant get the AFL licence directly or they don’t work on AFL games at all

Yeah but he posted on here so Ross is the best

From what I have heard, they are still doing face scans. Lots of AFL and AFLW players coming through. Apparently the new AFLW sides have caused another delay

Who was that dude who was asking for questions for an interview? Any thing back yet?
That was me. I know Daniel and the team are super busy and they're trying to answer them as soon as possible, I did think I'd have the answers by now (one of the massive cons about doing written interviews). I followed up again today and I'm told I should get them soon, so hopefully this week sometime.

I expect these interview answers to be delayed until after Wicked Witches silence breaks.

Fair enough. The new sides coming in was definitely a surprise and not announced over a year ago.

AFLW? just make the game
Classic Wicked Witch.

"It's got career mode! And state leagues! And Be A Pro! And custom teams! And face scans!"
"Yeah but is the gameplay any good?"
"...And AFLW!"

Games are added when they pass testing, can't find Microsofts API for newly added games but it's passed Sonys test. Which is what would've been holding back news.
Does that mean the game is still a while off, or are we expecting it to be on the shelves in a couple of weeks?

I'm not in the four walls but it's a very good sign that's it's moving along, maybe something soon to keep AFL news flowing. I'd be surprised if no release date info before mid march

It's not ridiculous, it's a fact the AFL are not putting any money into the video game industry by paying for their own game. They license it out for money. FIFA and The NFL never did that. That's why I say you should be happy they're delaying it, instead of being impatient. But from the screenshots and teaser, it looked exactly the same with a bit of a graphical and audio upgrade. The movement of the players remained the same. Big Ant sponsor The AFLW, so who knows, they may get the license someday.

The game passing testing could have been the barrier preventing more announcements taking place. You'd assume the game passed testing today, so tomorrow could be the day.
