my experience with the ruck "glitch" so far - right, naismith goes off, aliir is my second ruck.. he only appears to go in for ball ups.. so.. BUDDY FRANKLIN goes to the centre for the bounce..

Had some really good online games past few days, matching up with someone of a similar skill online is the game at its most fun I think.

Speaking of online, there needs to be an option where you can chose if custom teams are allowed or not. I've got no interest in playing edited superteams, that's no fun to me.

Have done it as well, isn’t 100% perfect (still have had to save Luke Ryan from rucking), but definitely does reduce how often it happens

Have the same battle when i play cricket 19 online - i always play with a national team and then come up against a team with a top 4 of Sharma, Kohli, Smith, Roy etc, takes the fun out of it.
 
Anybody else had this glitch? Ignore me getting robbed on the goal line, but the ball gets taken over for a rushed behind, I receive the point, but a boundary throw in follows instead of a kick in.

Anyone tested turning off some things in ‘Graphics’ (Blur, Flare etc.)???

wondering if that could help the framerate a bit.
But agree, would prefer a terrible crowd and better framerate than good crowd and bad framerate.

you can turn off replays and mess around with the settings, does help a bit, certainly.

Good Lord, I didn't think a game could run worse than WWE 2K18 on Switch but here we are....

I think it might be time for a new dev team Sebastian Giompaolo . The game is having frame rate issues even on PS4 and Xbox One. This is quite concerning along with all the bugs.

In all honesty, I don't know about the future of AFL games. We're probably going to be stuck with pretty average games for a long time time until BigAntStudios takes the license themselves without Tru Blu or Tru Blu get someone else in to give it their shot on the game and they have a passion for the game. I think we might have hit the peak of Wicked Witches as they really struggle to get things optimized and only now have something resembling playable gameplay. I can't see them really toping this game and it's a mixed bag.

I'm probably just gonna take a break for the next few years from these games until things seem to really improve. I don't want to waste time getting angry on this. There's more important things in life. There are better things to do.

Another thing i've been meaning to cry about..


How come anyone who goes for a mark on the goal line does a big lunge and teleports 1m behind the goals when they mark it?

The ball drop indicator can be 2m out from the goals, and your player will do a big pirouette and mark it over the line.


Every, single, time.

Regardless of frames, distance blur automagically goes for me, and turned off flare also. Don’t need them while playing a footy game.

Not sure about JB, I think they're only doing online orders only because of COVID-19. Might be wrong, I dunno. I've not left the house is weeks. :P

I ordered mine on April 6 and it arrived April 9 if that helps?

Only Available online at JB. You can pick up, click & collect at EB (not sure they'll price match as you can't walk into a JB and buy it).

I'll add that, like many of you, there's so many bugs in all areas of the game, you really need to just workaround them as much as you can. We shouldn't have to do it, but it's the reality.

I love the customisation of teams. Not for shit teams that people seem to love uploading, thinking people actually want to download their crap (like IDGAF if you make a Hawthorn team with Patrick Cripps and other opposition players in it, it's just trash). I love the effort gone into making State sides, the AFLX sides (genius, btw), and historical sides. Kudos to anyone who has put that effort in, I've grabbed all that I can, it's great.

But damn, the bugs... seem to be able to download copies of players with face scans from the community but you can't copy them yourself in the game. At least there's a workaround.

If you delete a side or player, sometimes you can't re-download it. That sucks.

Can't duplicate downloaded players. This is dumb. I'd like to, say, have Glen Jakovich in an AFL Legends side and also in a WA Legends side. Can't duplicate him. I can't even re-download him. If someone makes him again, I can download a different version. But that sucks. If I download a side that he is in and move him to a different side and then delete that first side, I maybe can re-download him. But I also maybe can't. I won't know until I delete said side. Such a gamble.

Guernseys, while numerous, are restrictive. Can only use them on custom sides. Seems stupidly restrictive that you can't add a custom guernsey to an in-game side. So many cool custom jumpers people are making that can't be used unless you want to make an entirely new custom side.

The guernsey creator, while having a fair selection, isn't as numerous as it appears. No option to change short colours seems shortsighted. Can't customise in-game guernseys is annoying. I get licensing plays a part but sometimes I think they're just overly restrictive.


As for the game, tbh it needs you to tweak the sliders. I've been tinkering and just finetuning as I go. Again, we shouldn't have to do this, but at least it is there to customise as needed. And I've had some great matches against the AI. The real value is multiplayer. I don't do online, as I imagine that'll get old fast. I play my 11yo and we've had some great games. I try to share all the little tidbits I learn so he can improve with me as well. Encourage him to play possession football (he's impatient and just wants to bomb long and mark). Use the kick modifiers. Only use certain buttons at certain times. I love the triangle hack kick so much... pretty much restrict myself to it in the forward line when it's crowded and loose... often goes out of bounds but sometimes I jag a goal. Makes the game more realistic.

I reckon a lot of people just want to kick/mark and expect the game to be good as a result. It's a complex game and you need to actually train youself to play it properly, rather than play it as a video game to win. Those who are getting the most out of it are exploring its features and customisation. Those who pan it seem to be pick up and play complaints. Just the way it appears to me, is all. Each to their own, and yep, there's a HEAP of bugs, but there's still a fun game to be had in there. Just requires a bit of user effort.

They couldn’t even get the animations to matchup with user input. I’ve seen 55m snaps around the body miraculously kicked from players’ chests.
 
Does anyone else find it's almost impossible to lose by more than a goal to the AI? If I'm ever 5+ goals down in the last quarter, the AI will just kick it out on the full, stop chasing me or do helecopter kicks inside their defensive 50 until I'm back in the lead.

Credit where it's due, the guernsey creator is one thing in the game I'm actually satisfied with. It's nowhere near BA Cricket's level but it meets my standards for a first effort. It's something I've championed for a long time and glad they actually put it in. It's very limited and the shorts not being a separate individual colour is stupid (or even defaulting to the predominant colour), but I'm happy with it as a first crack. Honestly I can make most things I want with it. The custom logos like BA Cricket would be a super addition but for a first up go I don't mind it.

If they were going to patch something, the colour selector needs an overhaul to allow grey. And I doubt it's patchable but separating the shorts to have their own colour selector would improve it immensely.
