Well the historic inaugural first Collingwood v Gold Coast Suns clash has been run and won at Metricon Stadium.

Pies successful by 54 pts, which also was the half time margin.

Coll 6.4 13.8 16.12 19.15 (129)

GC 3.2 5.2 8.4 11.9 (75)

I thought GC had a real go all night and kept the Pies very honest and playing pretty hard.

I didn't think we so much bludged in the last half, I think that takes away from the Suns' efforts.

Anyhow, open for discussion re all aspects of the game.

A great opportunity to sharpen up the skills in a real match situation.
Instead half the team plays like they don't give a shit.

Not happy

Good - Wood/Keefe
First half (particularly 2nd quarter)

Bad - 2nd half - Just stopped because the game was done
BJ Injury

Ugly - Commentating absolutely shocking

Worse than Ugly - Maxwell (Please make up an injury or something, worst on ground by a mile)

Take a chill pill. We played Gold Coast. We slacked off big time but still won. I am quite happy with the win. Don't wanna peak too early.

Especially in the 2nd Half where they looked like they did not want to be there.

Though Keeffe had a Good Game and Fasolo Had a Handy Game.

Steele BOG for me

First half was good. Second half was awful. Good to get the four points and all but come on, Gold Coast are the worst side in the comp and have the worst forward line in the comp, yet we got 75 points scored against us? Realistically we should've kept them to around 30 like the Kangas, defense is struggling big time and the fact that Maxwell is in horrid form isn't helping matters.

From the opening bounce we looked half hearted, only Bally was going hard from the start the bloke truly leads by example each week regardless of opponent.

We played poorly, really should of thumped them.
putting it perspective, a 9 goal win is technically a thumping

our work in the first half can't be overlooked.

Good win, let's move on, and never talk of that game again.;)

Really though, we took our foot off the pedal after the easiest first half this team has ever had, it was too easy, and the players got complacent.

Plus, that is the worst side we will send out onto the field all year, especially once Thomas was subbed.

McCarthy is finished as an AFL footballer, we may as well have kept Stanley, he has more poise then McCarthy.

A few promising things, Fasolo and Keefe, and Swan, Pendles and Ball went all night. Steele and Blair back in form, and Krak had a go tonight.

The backline you can't really talk about too much, Reid stood out, Maxwell didn't play down there a lot, and Goldy was unsighted.

Bring on the Bummers.:)

P.S. Only concerns are Johnno and Daisy, hope they are ok.

Im not happy either

This was meant to be a relaxing game yet was the most frustrating all year.Effort was shocking apart from Pendles ,Leon and maybe Swan.

Overall was a terrible match to watch.

Only got to watch the 1st half then had to listen on radio for 2nd, but Ball was BOG in the 1st half by far for me and was one of the few playing how he should.

Toast - Leon, Pendlebury, Keefe & Wood :thumbsu:

Roast - Maxwell (Ordinary all year), McCarthy (Should be traded), Macaffer (Showed that he hadn't played for weeks)
this mcarthys time with us has to come to an end i dont see he getting much better. caff died in the ass after the 1st quater. maxwell was rubbish tonight

I should probably feel impressed we won by nine goals after barely playing a full quarter but it was meh for me

Wood is going backwards in matches!!
Most of our side looked lazy and after daisy's cork the rest of the side slowed

Krak wasnt too bad as a midfielder, although why he was manned up on Ablett is beyond me

Ease up people.

9 goal win was good enough. Let the media beat it up and the flogs on Bay13 have a laugh. Who cares? If we got through unscathed (unsure about Johnno) then good. Just remember, a couple of years ago the sh!ttest side in the comp would have got within a couple of goals of us. The boys respond when challenged. Have pretty much done it for the better part of a couple years. This year won't be any different.

2nd QTR was good but you could tell they where not going 100% at the Start.

Guess they did not want to over do it

my mistake

of course bally tried his guts out.he does it every week.some other guys need to look at how he plays week in week out.

Keefe also deserves a mention.

Maxwell was no worse then goldsack, Reid, or Harry. All were poor, all got lead to the ball, all made bad mistakes

Harsh to single out just the one
