Made that harder then it should have been. Got some work to do, but so happy we beat the Pies!

GHS was good and deserves to keep his spot, has good composure and knows where he can find the ball.
Some clever hand passes out of the packs set up a couple of early goals, then kicked one himself :) Great composure today!

Stokes was very good, Lonners amazing, happy with the effort of the youngins. Pleased that the oldies who needed to step up did, they didn't set the world alight, but they helped cool more intemperate heads. T-Bone showed that he is one of the best power forwards around when he gets going, be nice if we could find him some support. To me Sels looked ok, nothing amazing, probably his fault for setting the bar so high.

3 and 0 and with strength in Mots and Bundy (and Boris from tonight) to return... is a huge positive.
And to it the more games the kids play the better they get (we hope)

Pleasing win in the end, mostly on account of a few very encouraging individual performances (Lonergan and Hawkins), however still plenty to worry about.

1. Forward 50 entry!! Deplorable... not much else to say. I suppose they do plenty of simulation drills in training, so perhaps they need to change tactics!

2. I think if they are serious about winning the thing this year, they need to start focussing on which young guys in particular are likely to be experienced enough come finals to make a legitimate contribution. Experienced enough on the proviso that they add another 12 -15 games to their games tally before then. I know we have a few injuries, hence the likes of Burbury and Sheringham, but as the year wears on I don't want to see those guys in the team, as no matter how good they might become in 2 or 3 years, they won't be doing anything in September with 9 or 10 games under their belt. Generally speaking, I don't agree with giving absolutely everyone a taste (4 or 5 games) throughout the season in the interests of having a large pool of players to draw from, all of whom can theoretically have an impact purely on account of said 'taste'.

Sheringham is a list clogger, just doesn't have the disposal. Don't waste games on him when Bews and Thurlow are fit.
Thought he was one of our better players in the second half to be honest, and was surprised his DE was only 60%.

The skills weren't great but the pressure was intense so the boys did well. And Hawkins the man rose to the occasion finally. For the first time this year he was a presence again!

As far as I am concerned, the first three games were up against teams we lost to last year. And now we have beaten them. So already we are better! (passionate happy supporter logic)

As expected the big boys slaughtered Grundy in the last quarter.

Blicavs good for 5min but not much since, don't know why he still gets a game.

Varcoe was pretty good again.

GHS was good, he should be fulltime mid.

Caddy isnt consistent enough for fulltime mid he should be mid/forward. He is a good contested mark up forward and think he has more value there.

Brown was average but just started to get into the game before being subbed.

Pretty happy to get the win, considering our outs.

Geez, pretty harsh on my boy Sheringham I reckon. Thought he was quite composed coming out of the back half.

He tried hard and did his job but he just doesn't have any weapons. Kicking penetration is poor, no real pace or footy smarts and is 25.

Hyphen must have ran over the umpires dog or something, how the hell he got pinged not once but bloody twice for holding the ball how he did I have no idea

those 2 HTB calls were easily the worst decisions of the night…. just horrible…

Go Catters

Good to get the win. I noticed we had no bounces tonight so I'm keen to get Christensen and motlop back.

I've have serious doubts about sheringham but he looked good tonight. Composed and kicked it long. I don't think he will be there in the finals but a reasonable depth player.

I reckon we lose without sheringham.

How old are you btw?

To be fair Flags are won with that type in every year , Simpkin has a P & W medal

No time or space for bounces tonight- the Pies played a pretty tight game.
I agree with all the comments on Maxwell. Wouldn't it be disgusting if the Cats were helping him on his way to an AA nomination? All the signs are there- but he is really just a bottom-dweller. Sneaks away and lies in wait to mop up the slops.

Everyone contributed at some stage tonight. I couldn't get over how much we spoilt each other in packs and the Pies were able to capitalise. Our kicking is either brilliant or terrible so I guess we give ourselves every chance or the opposition.
McIntosh and Simpson got right on top in the second half. The Pies great on-ballers meant we didn't totally capitalise, however, it's a massive difference to what we've witnessed since Ottens retirement.

Collingwood curse is over, and the record of no team winning 4 consecutive games against us in a decade continues!

Tomahawk, take a bow!
Oh! Oh! Oh! Aaah-aaah-aaah! Phew!!!
