Women's Footy AFLW and MFC Women's General Discussion

The other part is it wasn't really advertised this year. If the AFL had pushed it a bit more it would have jumped the crowd.

Womens SOO was a better watch than the legends game. That was garbage

They were both garbage, but only one of them was intended to be garbage from the outset.

Draft in two and a half weeks. Will be interesting to see if we go mature or younger.

This year is the year we have to nail it. I'm really worried that the new sides will lead to poaching. Wonder what the rules will be around protected players.

That said, I'm confident too, we were the form team of the comp later in the season.

Yeah, right from the start of the season I felt we'd be the best team in the comp come season's end, but worried we might have lost too many by then to finish top two. And so it transpired. If just one of those misses v GWS had gone through......

But looking forward to 2018.

They obviously don't want anyone to attend. Especially not families.

It's a heat problem. Game at 2.10pm in Feb on a 35 degree day isn't safe.

I think they're trying to limit the impact of the heat that time of year, whilst also not making it too late of a finish. I'd say they had families and kids in mind looking at it

Excited to see the MFC women in Perth. Missed out last year. Shame it's not the Perth Stadium game, though. Still, Freo Oval's not a bad ground to watch the game at.

Unfortunately we've lost Ainslie Kemp for the 2018 season - ACL injury.

We looking good for the cup this year? Thinking it might be worth a flutter

Despite the fact I suspect, like last year, it will be be very hard to make any confident predictions about where most of the teams will finish, I have high hopes and am very excited about our prospects. I know I'll be tense watching their matches - in the AFL the odd upset loss in a 22 round season with a final eight shouldn't really amount to much, but a single unexpected defeat in a seven round comp with a final two can be catastrophic, as we saw last year!

If anyone is interested i guess
Melbourne will play a practice match against Collingwood this Friday night, in the lead-up to the 2018 AFLW season.

The Demons will play the Magpies at Olympic Park Oval from 7.30pm.

The match will consist of four 20-minute quarters.
