How frustrating was it last year for the VFLW side to have the grand final repeatedly postponed before it was ultimately cancelled?
Did it feel strange playing in the VFLW Preliminary final against Maddy Prespakis and Zali Friswell knowing you'd all be teammates a few short months later?

Great win by the team and so good to see it come to fruition.

Really hope we can keep the group together another few years as the development is really exciting.

What are the expected rules on the new expansion teams and what effects will that have on list retention? Can we keep the group together for the most part?

With the VFLW season starting up this weekend, are the girls who are on the fringe of selection for the AFLW side looking forward to potentially being able to have a kick of the footy in anger on Saturday?

Also, who do you think will be the next Fuller, Gunjaca and Johnson in this years VFLW crop?

She'd have to be a massive chance after having 17 possessions, 9 marks, 12 hitouts and 3 goals today.

been banging on about it like a dunny door in the breeze for sure... but they said she's be back earlier than this - and id rather wait and be cautious than go early.

We really miss another good marking target in F 50 beside McWilliams and Liv provides that as she's shown previous in her few games.


But yeah... im noisy about her - ill wear that.

With Julia Crockett-Grills playing as a run-with player on Ellie Blackburn after half-time on Friday night and racking up about 6 tackles in as many minutes, is that something we could potentially see more of going forward?

Will we also see more of Chloe Scheer in the middle as a pinch-hitter to help with clearances like we saw at the start of the last term on Friday?

It was as shame we didnt get the best overall effort and result last week, but there ere some good signs for the future.

Expectedly, Liv blew up early but showed her importance up forward with some marking and a spell in the ruck.

Fris had some good moments and A Mac was her usual prolific self.

A long day at the office but they kept trying all game long and ran out hard at the end.

I liked seeing Grills have a run with role and it showed some flexibility in the coaches box.

Is training more directed at skills at this stage or is overall fitness still be pushed. It seemed like a real "almost"game... we almost got possession. we almost got a clean touch, we almost got a chain of possession going. Seems like double touches ( skills) and fatigue can lead to this at times.

How'd Liv Barber pull up after the game after her head knock late? Must admit it was pretty scary to see her collapse after she originally got to her feet after it happened. Guessing she'll be out this week due to the concussion protocols though.

Who's the poor person who has to hold the tackle bag for Rachael Kearns at training? Some of her tackles on the weekend were brutal. My personal favourite was one where she sprinted about 50m through the middle of the ground to nail Monique Conti with a beautiful textbook tackle. Inspirational stuff.

On a lighter side, is there much sledging in the women's game? If so, who's the best sledger in the side, and what's the funniest sledge you've heard (that can be repeated that is)?
