All Divisions General NFNL Discussion Thread

I go to a few Bullants games, there are some new players this year who were at Heidelberg last year - no idea where they played juniors.

I can't see how Bullants would be successful if they went back to NFNL unless they were to merge with the Preston VAFA club, take on some of their players and juniors and establish themselves.

I suppose there are teams that sit on the bottom of the epl ladder and there rated more successful/prestigious then the second division league, So even sitting bottom of ladder in the vfl still better then sitting anywhere in the minor leagues, GO Bullants!

Why oh why can the NFNL continue to produce and present Annual Report without a financial report? Clubs should know where the hard-earned money raised to run a club is going. I watch people bust their nut scraping for every cent to run a club, the NFNL collects some tasty fees which we know they need to exist, but one obligation should be an open book via annual reporting.

VAFA and Eastern have their annual reports online and a nice financial report as per guidelines set down by Consumer Affairs Victoria, NFNL just does what it wants.

Easy to hide things if you don't present them. No doubt free lunches and friday boozy drinks expenses ...... kickbacks for using Preston...... free fuel allowances......and I am sure a few took a free trip to the Super Bowl....... are hard to put in a report (I have no idea if all this happens but as they do not show a financial report may as well start the rumors)
Just read this, i wasn't aware this occurred, surely the have a legal obligation to prepare and submit a financial report at every AGM!!!
Hopefully the new CEO is on top of this and other things going on inside the league that smell very fishy!!!

Don’t Heidelberg currently have 5/6 players on their list playing at preston ?
I know one current Collingwood VFL player who told me he’s on less money than he’s on playing NFL and the standard ain’t much better but he’s young and the lure of being added on a list is too big not to have a crack at.
Most VFL players are on less then local players. That's happened for forever and a day. You only play at that level because it's a higher standard.

Good to see they have flicked Barling Reserve for Junior finals, terrible venue.
If only they would do the same for Donath Reserve, Redleap, Panton Hill and Yarrambat, all shocking places to try and park!!!

Bit harsh div 3 men’s can not play at Preston, but the women’s can, I have attended 2 women’s games this year and crowd number would be 10 to 30

Be a great get for the NFNL.

Just back to the Bullants discussion, enough is surely enough with them playing in the VFL. They need to step away from that competition.

We definitely dont need another senior club from preston though.

Coburg would be a welcome addition to the EDFL though. They play some marquee games at Coburg City oval already.

Without a junior pathway what’s the point? There is no demand in these areas for another football club.

Does this club have Juniors?

Yes good sized junior club, girls, seniors reserves and clubbies.

Great ground as well 👍

Absolute fantastic get for the NFNL if it happens.
Fantastic. These are the clubs we need to bring in. I think any club wanting to come in should have to have juniors. We already have enough struggling Senior clubs without juniors.
