What should Buchanan get for his hit on Clarke. He took Clarke head high and left the ground when making contact and looked like he knew what he was doing the whole time. Ben Johnson recieved 6 week and last year Brodie Hollond did almost the same thing as Buchanan and also recieved 6 weeks.

What penalty should he recieved.

8 weeks penalty maybe 1 less as he has a good record (?) less 2 for an early plea. Any less would be a joke.

You appear to have done all the equations except you forgot to include Sydney rule which wll reduce it to 4 weeks max.

Guys this is the AFL remember. How do you expect us to build the brand in Sydney with our key players watching on the sidelines. 1 week. Search your feelings, you know it to be true. :thumbsu:

it was worse than brodie's so should get more

But less than the potential for injury of Johnson's.

FWIW, since when has any form of previous sentence logic, or even logic applied at the Tribunal?

IMHO, considering it was late, he left the ground and contact was high, they'll start at 6-weeks and with no appearqances to date from memory he might get a 1-2 week downgrade with an early plea discount.

It will help him that Clarke was back up and on the ground a few moments later, but effectively, it finishes '07 for Amon.

A strange decision by the young lad given that type of play is not something you would associate with him.

On the other side of the coin, do you think Rocca will go for his late, high contact on Goodes?

How many times has he been on report this year?

Rocca 2 weeks down to 1 on Eddie rule

I think he will get about 4 weeks due to the fact that he plays for an interstate club.
If it was collingwood then it would be 6-8 weeks without looking at any evidence of some sort.
It was definitaly a dog hit and was very uneccessary, thats the closest buchanan has ever got to a contest.

Because its COLLINGWOOD and Rocca doesnt have the best record. I think 2 weeks with 1 week as a early plea but knowing the AFL and how rediculas some penalty's are rocca will recieve 5 weeks with no early penalty and also pay a fine of hurting untouchable Goodes which will be 20thousand.

Lucky there was vision of it, or he could quite possibly have got 35 weeks plus a public stoning.

Then again, he could get off. Who knows these days .

For starters, the two Pie players you've mentioned have a very, very poor record when it comes to thuggery!!

Now let's put Buchanens hit in perspective. It was bad. But Clarke was up & playing in the last quarter & played well too.

So............that will ALWAYS be taken into account by the tribunual. Buchanen also has no history of thuggery. That will be taken into account.

Ben Johnsons hit, however the one eyed Magpie supporters want to look at it, was dangerous with a player having his head down over the ball. The tribunual DON'T like that kind of contact.
Take away the "Magpie Histeria" factor from Buchanens hit & he will probably get 3 or 4 weeks, reduced to 2 or 3 with an guilty plea.

That's how it works my friend in the unbiased world of footy.

Bad records add on weeks.............see Holland & Johnson.
Good or NO records gets weeks discounted.

What's so hard to comprehend with this system.

Now if Buchanen does the same thing again next year. Six weeks plus.
Because that's what his 'bad' record will say he deserves.

Now a question for you Beeg.

Anthony Rocca = How many weeks??

Very bad bad record. In fact he has actually done the thing time & time again. Careless it may be but it is also a reportable offence whether the Magpie supporters think so or not.

I say two weeks! Perhaps reduced to one if he pleads guilty. But hang on.
He hit Goodes. And you guys think he is protected. So with that factored in to the equation, Rocca should get 6 weeks reduced to 5!;)
Hehehe...........

Cheers!

2 losses in 1 year to us reaallly hurts, doesn't it? :D:D

Unfortunately, the search function is not working, but earlier this year I summarised the in game and MRP reports for the year to date, and from memory Rocca had been charged twice and both times charges dropped at that stage.

Was he not also reported and got off a few weeks ago, making this report #4 for 2007????

Note to Admin: Please fix the search function, it is a somewhat useful tool at times like these.

Anyone got vision of it? I dragged in a mate from outside to watch a replay and the pricks wouldn't show it again. Then he missed it again yesterday when they showed it at the break during the geelong port game.

Was probably the biggest hit i've seen in a while.

How long, dunno, its dumb just throwing up random numbers of weeks, i'll wait for someone to crunch the numbers.

Have a look i already said what i thought. Rocca will get 2weeks 1 week as a early plea but honestly i dont think there was anything in it. Jake King last week did something preety much the same and got off so who knows mate i didnt think Ben Johnson's record was that bad to be honest and i also thought the 6 weeks was the right penalty. Hollonds record was pour when he hit Montgomery but Monty ended up being almost BOG so Marty Clarke coming back on and playing ok shouldnt have anything to do with the decision if we go on past events

Some people on here need their head seriously read.

The tribunal guidelines are pretty clear. Just follow them and you can work out how many weeks a player gets.

Rough conduct: High impact, high contact, reckless = 325 points.
Reducable by 25% for early plea, Reducable for 25% for good record (if he has a good record)

So the end result will most likely be 1-2 weeks. Possibly one extra if the offence is deemed to be intentional. I can't quite see them giving it severe impact but they might.
