If it was the other way around atleast 6 weeks shows and proves how much the AFL Tribunal hate the Collingwood Footy Club

:) I didnt say tribunal was consistent or fair.

This will never be the case until the concept of precedence is adopted. I'm baffled as to how long the clubs have allowed the AFL to proceed without it. The tribunal is a lottery these day and even with the MRP, the inconsistencies are astounding.

The MSP and tribunal have the ability not only to to decide football games, but also shape seasons for clubs. Yet there appears to be no accountability whatsoever. While I'm generally opposed to clubs taking legal action, I would hope that at some stage, a club takes the AFL to court if it deems its decision to be excessive and not in line with similar prior incidents.:thumbsd:

I'm sorry, but this argument holds no water.

It's the action that needs to be assessed, not the resulting injury or extent there of.

But then one could argue that every hit has little force and the player that got hit and got injured is just weak.;)

medium impact is BS.
if it was any other player then marty clark, the bloke wouldn't have gotten up. feet off the ground is intentional shouldnt be anything less, if u leave the ground you have thought about it, its simple body mechanics. severe impact should be given seeing as maarty was knocked back.

Severe would be a bit OTT IMO. The bloke was OK after 5 mins. on the pine. I originally thought intentional, high impact, high contact 5 games down to 3. That said I haven't seen it again after Sat. night, was there genuine contact to the head???

4 weeks is fair imho
you cant just go around jumping at peoples heads
if he stayed on the ground if would have been a good hip and shoulder perhaps

:

I hope all players get off if the other player is not hurt. If the player is hurt then throw the book at them IMO. Thats just me. :)

Isnt it better that Clark, Goodes, Rocca and Amon or get to play. Good result for all. :thumbsu:

That is pretty ignorant. If someone does something that is clearly illegal & intentional or reckless then they should be rubbed out otherwise it is encouraging dangerous conduct. Its like someone shooting at you & saying no harm done I missed.

If Bell got up & was alright after Johnson's hit and he got one week I would have been annoyed what he did was reckless the fact he hurt someone or not is beside the point.

The AFL needs a new system that is more consistent.

marty go hit high dont know bout head contact but the problem i see if the wipe lash effect which it had on the kid, surely causing a guys head to fling back like that warrants severe, like johnsons where bells head went backwards, he would've had massive wipe lash except the knee to the head from his head changes the momentum of it so it wasnt as bad. but yea high enough to make the head go back. safety studies show that a compression or hyper extention of the neck can be very dangerous, if no the same degree of damage. so as i see it a block head down and getting hit [i.e bell] and the clark incident had the same level of severity. ok bell was ko'd but i think the knee did that more then johno's hip. amon is only getting less attention coz clark was able to get straight back up.

:D Excuse my ignorance.. I just like the best players on the field rather than in the stands. I understand that there are times when players should be rubbed out, but personally if another player is not injured by their action I hope they get off. So when 2 incidents happen and all 4 players involved are free to play then I say good result, move on. Rather than sqealing like a little bitch.

No. If you fire a gun and miss the person you get less than if you hit them. If you punch someone in the jaw and do no damage you get less than if you broke their jaw. Thats life, so why should footy be any different.

Seriously, people are idiots. Anyone who takes the time to get a basic grasp of the system could work out what his penalty would be two days ago. Instead we get media and posters throwing random numbers in the air for two days and then getting shocked when a perfectly logical penalty (according to the rules drawn up) gets handed out.

Funny.

You say he'll get '1-2 weeks', then throw in 'maybe 1 extra if'.

So basically you're saying that people are idiots for not knowing exactly what the penalty will be - then say he will either 1, 2 or 3 weeks.

Good one.

That was the most rediculas thing iv ever heard please dont comment on something ever again.

are you serious:confused: just because he wasn't badly injured you think he should get off:rolleyes:

He reminds me of hecksie.

Kinda makes me miss the lil bugger!!! :(

I think your a the one who is a fool, still a bit upset that all the collingwood supporters are making good valid points that the thug buchanan should have been rubbed out for alot longer than what he got.
Its fairly sad that you are the w***er and move away from the meaning of the thread to hang s**t on someone who is posting their opinion.
You know as well as all the collingwood supporters and supporters of other clubs that sydney is the charity case of the afl.... just look at the way they are looked after by the afl and the tribunal.
You need to have a long hard look at yourself instead of criticising others its quite pathetic really.

Clearly English is not your preferred language, so I'll type a little more slow.l..y for you.

Try reading the this thread and others and you'll see that I DON'T AGREE with just 1-week.

That I HAVE stated that I thought it should be 6 and discounted to 4 on a previously 100% clean record.

BTW, that length was LONGER than what the majority of Collingwood fans had posted at the time of my original post.

FWIW, I also stated that I didn't believe Rocca SHOULD have been charged.

But all of these posts agreeing either in total, or large parts with what has been said by Collingwood supporters.

Try again, despite posts like the above, I'm being decried as "biased", repeatedly abused and when I return a bit of fire, all the August 2007 Collingwood joinees want to leap up and down.

You might just want to find a mirror yourself junior.
