Uni Blacks for the double drop Jas? You'd want to think they have lost a lot of players for that to happen...!

a couple of you seem to have Uni Blacks and OT's quite far down the bottom..

Do you think they will loose a lot of players and not gain any?

Or do you think there are 6-8 clubs in B section that would have been more competitive in A section in '08?

St B
OH
OT
SKOB

Ormond
UB
O Car
HR
O Camb
OM

I'd be interested to hear people's reasons for OT's predicted fall from grace. The U19 side just won its way into Premier Division, and the senior club hasn't finished worse than 3rd in B section since 1991.

All the experienced players from the past few years are suiting up again, and the junior lads are sticking fat too. Should make them a pretty formidable unit in 2009.

There's already a B Section thread buddy. Why start another?

Underestimate Uni Blacks and Old Trinity at your own peril. Trinity had their act together towards seasons end, whilst Uni Blacks suffered a number of injuries through the course of the year. The are led by a president who knows what is need to be successful. I think Uni Blacks in particular will be strong. At the other end saw Ormond V Hampton GF. Ormond will be far too slow. They are an experienced unit but really lack the running / skill set required for B section. Feel sorry for Barney as I do not think he has the cattle. Rovers are young and on the up however they have far to many light weights in their side. Those players will not stack up in B Section. Rovers need an injection from their Sandy players to make any sort of impact.

Yeh Trinity were absolutely firing. Winning 1 of their last 15 games!

think u were pretty accurate scotty dog about rovers n ormond
still think ormond have 1 or 2 good years at there peak.. but are definetly an old list

rovers very much the opposite, bout half of our best 22 would be under 22,23 yrs old.. big summer in the gym and we should be in for a good showing.

havent played B section, looking forward to it
cheers boys

An old list??? Take out McConville who I'm pretty sure has retired & the next oldest is Matt Robbins at 31. The rest are mid-20's & a few 28-29 year olds...

We have Hampton covered every day of the week.

and IMO that constitutes and 'old list' .. hence 1 or 2 years (when majority of ur list will be 25/26/27 yrs old) left at ur peak.

It seems the newly promoted Ormond & HR aren't clubs befitting of Amateur status. The man responsible for adjudicating the cricket game I was playing on the weekend swears by the fact he was involved in a conversation whereby Mr.Sholly said the VAFA should be an Old Boys competition and the district clubs should be in the suburban leagues. Interesting opinion for the CEO of the league to have.

If you take a look at their results you would understand they weren't being smashed by A Section clubs. We're talking B Section here and my post was in reponse to a post about double drops for Trinity to C Section.

How do you reckon most B Section clubs would go against the likes of Collegians, Scotch and SBMT the like? I'm sure not as well as Trinity.
