The only one I have heard say anything about it on radio was Rowe on 5AA and he only said thats what he heard.

At the end of the day is it really a suprise if the coach asks a captain his opinion on selection policies if perhaps it could be deemed to not be working at present.

Plus wasnt Bicks the forward line coach so maybe we shouldnt be thinking it was such a hard sell to get walker back into the side if he had bicks's confidence.

All said and done Walker is in the side and the leading goal scorer in the afl for the last month. not a bad player to come in i wouldnt have thought.

I, like Jenny, was unaware that it had been stated on MMM. This changes the integrity of the information, upgrading it from "unreliable rumour" to "reliable information coming directly from the playing group via Adelaide radio".

"The more we can get Taylor out there, get him used to our gamestyle, and basically just play him, the better he's going to get. We can see the talent he has and we're looking forward to seeing him develop in the last four games."

Not my words, but those of our Captain, Mr van Berlo.

I think you need to retract your statement that this was unsubstantiated prior to today, or at least acknowledge that you fired off your gun in defence of Jenny prematurely.

Oddly enough, you've still failed to quote the relevant bit from the very same post:
Can you please explain the following quote from Nathan van Berlo on Triple M last week?

I thought I'd already covered my comments with a suitable number of caveats:
srv23's post was the first time that I recall seeing a source for the comment. I could be wrong.. but it's the first time I remember seeing someone provide a source for this information.
Seems it has been sourced before and I missed it..

What it boils down to is that its been said before and if you want to argue the opposite you need to cop it on the chin if you disagree...

No excuses if you want to debate, you need to keep up or cop it sweet.

He did in the pre-game.

How we can still be debating whether a rift existed or not is beyond me.

I apologise as I honestly had not seen/heard the comments before. It really does surprise me as I've seen them together a number of times away from the game and it was never evident- in fact, I would say just the opposite.

What you see on the surface can be misleading. Ive fallen prey to that trap myself over the years.

can't have been that clear given a few posts ago you didn't see it!

A few posts ago I wasn't aware of the situation, and other than hearsay, only knew what I personally knew of the pair. Now that I know that there actually was an issue, what you say is clear. Ok?

sure. i think a 'i was possibly wrong in defending craigy for how he managed tex' would be more appreciated than pleading ignornance (especially when the details were provided in this very thread that you are choosing to then debatethe point on...)

a) I haven't read the whole thread. Also haven't read the VB on triple M thread. Details may have been provided before, but as I said, I've never seen it. This is not pleading ignorance - it's just a fact.

b) I think I've more than acknowledged I may have been wrong on this point. I've also apologised. What TF more do you want? :(

It took you several posts Jen, we had to squeeze it out of you. First it was "oh ok," then "well i hadn't read the thread..." You could have used either of those initial posts to cop it on the chin. It wasnt until this post here, after Allefgib challenged you, that you actually ballsed up and admitted you were wrong.

Still waiting for Vader though. Won't hold my breath.

Pretty annoying when you are chastised for having an opinion, that opinion turns out to be 100% correct, and then there is absolutely no recourse, just vacant stares and pleas of ignorance.

I should be used to it.

Have the arguments finished now? Can we please get back to Craig bashing?

Remember when he said that we needed more outside mids who could run, carry and deliver the footy... Then... a week or two later, said that he wanted to try to turn David Mackay into an inside mid? :o

If Bicks has been an improvement, we know things must have been pretty bad.

Can we please leave the arguing junk out of this thread? Nobody owes anyone an apology for having an opinion, even if it is proven to be incorrect, and nobody is obliged to "cop it on the chin" as such. If you're proven to be correct on something, all power to you. Demanding that others apologise and acknowledge your internet victory is unnecessary.

Are we obliged to cop that rebuke on the chin or can we just take the opinion that you're taking the fun out of it?

I can't exactly tell you what opinion you can and can't have mate ;)

But please try to stay remotely on-topic. This thread is about what Bickley brings to the table that Craig lacked, not about what I lack as a moderator ;)

Absolutely agree mate, I will always seek to stir up trouble to cover for your self-professed gaps in your moderating abilities... ;) (still think you should consider giving OP's some extra control on abjudicating what they do and don't want in their threads)

I'm convinced Bickely brings a much better management method for Taylor Walker than Craigy. By a long way.

I wish Bickley could get the players to shut up about playing better footy out of guilt for getting Craig sacked. He brought it on himself. Every week its been a different player (Sloane, Petrenko the last 2 weeks). Why can't they just admit they are happier playing attacking footy without Craig's outdated game plan and expectations!

On that note though, if they want to feel guilty enough to win the premiership next year then guilt away I say!!!

On board with that.

So that's another thing Bicks does that Craig never could. Get Pets to be effectively consistent forward.

Let's agree that we will call Pets consistent once he pulls a full season together, not just a couple of games

FFS 3 or 4 games does not make a season especially considering some of the opposition

Yes CRaigy deserved to fall on his Sword however our playing groups attitude really does need to be questioned as they are only now showing the right mental attitude, with this in mind some players will consider themselves very lucky to remain on our list for next season

I would also go as far as saying that some of this improved attitude is more to do with guilt and less to do with Bick's and Pets did touch upon this today

Bottom line, regardless of coach the players better not turn up next year with the same soft underbelly that they haves showed for the majority of this year.

Yes CRaigy fell on his sword however I'm yet to let the playing group of the hook for this season, it will take more than beating a few soft opponents
