If this thing had burst fire it would be almost like god mode..

I was given a code. Mis-used them i think. When is it best to use them? I completed a quest, used one. Completed the next quest and used another. In 3 of them i got class mods in which a majority were for different characters to the one i was using. In another i got a rocket launcher that was worse than the one i already had. Only place to use them is on the chest in Sanctuary, right?

I think so.

A lot of people wait until they max out a character at level 50, and then use all of them at once. Means you get the best possible loot. I am lazy, so I tend to use them when I have trouble beating a boss and I can't be arsed grinding to try and find a better weapon.

Fire is the most fun, I reckon. I have a Volcano sniper that absolutely devastates any flesh enemies. Corrosive is bloody useful though, particularly with all the armoured enemies in this game.

Indeed

I don't tend to use electric much, although a rapid-fire electric pistol is useful for quickly hammering down bosses with big shields before hitting them with something else. Explosive is relatively shit. Slag I can never be bothered with.

I never used to use electricity until I found myself struggling against shields regularly.

I've only used explosive damage on a shotgun, otherwise I agree, it sux a fair bit.

Slag is good in a grenade/turret combo if you're using the commando obviously.

The Law pistol you get in Sanctuary by completing the sidequest where you identify the murderer. It has +100% melee damage, and when combined with the Order shield it restores health with melee attacks. If you have Zer0 specced as a melee fighter it makes you pretty much invincible.

The Sheriff's Badge is an occasional drop from (I think) the Sheriff of Lynchwood. I have never got it though.

I gpt s sheriff's badge that offers +8% damage with shotties and +36% on reloads.

Like Caeser said - the higher the level the better the loot, that's all you really need to take into account if you want better stuff.

I found one with 28k damage and worth $275k in the Tiny Tina DLC last weekend. It's fun to use sometimes against shit enemies, but I don't really like it.

I like using them purely what they're designed for:

Corrosive - armor
Electric - shields
Fire - bandits
Slag - increased damage

This. You have to adjust in TVHM. Although fiore is best for "Im melting" and "I smell delicious" lines.

In TVHM and UVHM you need to be very aware of the elements you're using.

Couldnt format the damage tables, but here is the link

I love the fire element, specifically on Sniper Rifles, love watching bandits and enemies hop around on fire from afar. The more I play though, the more I dig Corrosive weapons. Early on I pretty much only used Electricity mainly to whittle down the shields of my enemies, but really love the fire now. Love it.

Is the season pass only worth it for end game? I'm starting a new game after only ever reaching level 11 and with the season pass only $15 on steam I will buy it if it is worth it.

There's a 200 page thread on this on the Gearbox forums.

Suffice to say, people were/are unhappy.

Well, it's nice to know I'm not alone!

You'll get another 25 hours of game time out of the DLC's, at $15 you can't really go wrong.

It's messed up.

Ive got a 26,000 damage sniper, I shoot some guy in the face who's 5 levels below me and he goes down holding his face.

Ahhh no I didnt throw as shoe at him.

I shot him in the face. And his head should have exploded with blood pissing out everywhere.

Sometimes it does the "full body explosion", which annoys me even more.

I'm worried that I will get bored again and not make use of the dlc though. Does it only add content to the end game?

Sorry I wasn't exactly sure on what you meant.

Yes, it only adds extra missions/places after finishing the storyline.

Yeah the overkill was great in the first one. Not just the headshots, but also the bit when you can cut a guy in half or blow off his limbs.

Now it seems they either just go down, or they get obliterated into a million pieces. It's not as satisfying.

Just started on UVHM, and yeah its hard playing solo.

You have to slag everything and have a very good FFYL strategy, because you'll be in it. Lots.

I got to sanctuary and started the Firehawk mission and quit. Just couldn't go through 50+ hours of that.

I didn't struggle at all soloing UVHM, but I did have just about every lvl 50 legendary lol

Just got back from ACMI where the Borderlands crew had a 90 minute discussion of the game. Randy Pitchford spoke as did the lead game and art designers. Fascinating stuff.

  • They showed the demo of the original Borderlands, before it adopted the cell shading comic book style. They joked they'd made Rage with some RPG stuff. It was very brown and dull. A few guys went away for a few weeks, came back with this art style and blew him away. From there everything else fell into place. Action skills, skill trees, types of enemies lots of the other awesome stuff only came about once realism was ditched.
  • Adopting the cartoony style opened up so many more design and gameplay options.
  • Tiny Tina may be the most expensive DLC ever made.
  • The story of B1 was an oversight. They admitted this and said, they simply didnt have enough time to develop a story as re-orienting the art and design was their primary focus, and this decision to change was done very late in the development cycle. Originally Steele was the primary villain, but she got written out and they didnt have time to make a true antagonist.
  • Even in the development cycle of B2, Handsome Jack was almost written out. In one draft, he didnt show up until 4 hours into the game.
  • Borderlands 1 had another 3rd of the game dropped. Didnt say why, but implied they simply ran out of time.
  • Their main focus is taking stuff we enjoy, and making iit different in some ways. They wanted the shooter dynamic but didnt want the typical brown military stuff. No, nobody asked about Aliens Colonial Marines here.
  • One proposed event in B2 had meeting Jack halfway through the game and taking all your weapons, mods, shields and loot as a means of making the player hate the villain.
