Apart from Docherty there are no '''superstars" to come in.
Who said anything about superstars?
There’s at least 6-8 players that would be preferred ahead of the ones that are currently being played. The inability to be playing these guys together over the past 7 rounds is ruining any team cohesion we might have been able to build.

It’d be interesting to know why the club haven’t come out and backed him publicly if he has signed a contract until 2020. Judd did mention he has assurances but the club is dancing around the subject.
Yeah
The club coming out and backing him publicly wouldn't lead to more speculation of course. All they can really do is ignore the external noise.

The De Goey punch-on rumour is a genuine rumour, if ya get what i mean. Many different sources have heard it. We don't know if it's true (obviously) but the rumour also suggests that Collingwood is doing everything in its power to prevent it from breaking out in the media as it would mean they'd have to sack him. I don't think clubs genuinely care about their players playing up, just the general backlash that always follows.

I notice the De Goey thread has now been deleted - giving credence to the second part of the rumour outlined above.
I missed that one. What’s de goey done now??

He'd be safe until this time next year. If they're no better they'll start looking at options.
Depends on whether they cop any more hidings a la Sunday’s- I think we’ve improved and the result was partially down to that, but I’d say a lot more of it was down to Carlton’s ineptitude. At the moment their midfield is basically Cripps, if he goes down through injury they’re even more rooted.

I hope Cripps doesn't leave Carlton because it will mean he is going to Freo because we have no capacity in our salary cap.

He'd probably only get paid out a month at most, otherwise he would just have a normal coaching contract.
It seems like the club has hedged it's bets, gives us a get out whenever we like.

That’s not necessarily correct. Even in a simple employment contract, this can be negotiated.

Judd is hopelessly conflicted whenever Carlton matters are addressed on Footy Classified. He talks in circles and says nothing. The funny part about that is that he attacked Matthew Lloyd for not helping his old club, and when Lloyd countered by saying that he believes you can't be in the role as an unbiased media commentator and also be working for a club, yet Judd is the perfect example of what Lloyd is saying. He is too conflicted - to the point that asking him anything about Carlton is a total waste of airtime. He comments reasonably on other clubs.

Agree. I think he’s great in the show until Carlton is mentioned.

The team are still mostly kids. Bolton also still learning the ropes. There's zero point offloading Bolton. Zero. Plus, they kicked out a stale, old useless egotistical coach just to replace him with a younger more team-oriented, long-term coach. What would be the point of just going back to square one?

Exactly. Stay the course. There'll be more bumps along the way, but this thing we're doing was always going to take a long time. I'm happy with Bolton and Carlton's approach. I fricken hate our performance and results, but the long-term approach is the only one I'll accept from the Blues and it's what they're giving me.

Macquarie Radio apparently took a call with a rumour Carlton to sack Bolton at the bye. Justin Longmuir to take over. I’d say given it's a random caller it’s unlikely.
Why would you sack him, from where I sit he’s doing a fantastic job, keep it going Bolts. Apart from that one game and four points it’s been impeccable thus far.

Bolton isn't on a contract, he is employed as an employee of the club so he can be dismissed with his four weeks notice paid out without any fanfare should Carlton wish to sacrifice someone on the altar to keep the fans happy.

It shouldn't be difficult to land a new coach, they will be lining up to take over a young and talented list. The hard road already traveled and a new grace period for the replacement coach, pressure off and natural progression of a young list bringing better performances.

Wins.
Wouldn’t they have to make his role redundant or performance manage him out?

I still think there is an argument he is doing a great job, unless they start winning of course.

Unfortunately our board also had posters finding positives in the 109 point loss, standards still need to be in place.
A professional footy team losing by 109 points is a train wreck, as Bolton himself says we need to scrutinize, asses, reflect.
I don't really care what the breakdown is but our games played and average age was for all purposes the same as Melbourne's.
If telling the truth is seen as having an agenda (by some posters) then I'm "guilty as charged".
There's only one way to make the rumours go away!

Pyke should be sacked then?

Demons are on a high, playing well. But forgetting the quality for one moment, how many best 22 players do you have out injured, say compared to our list?
