Mitchell Clark, Scott Harding, Rhan Hooper, Matthew Moody, Michael Rischitelli, Jason Roe, Troy Selwood, Justin Sherman, Cheynee Stiller
vs
Courtenay Dempsey, Ricky Dyson, Courtney Johns, Ben Jolley, Angus Monfries, Paddy Ryder, Henry Slattery, Brent Stanton, Jobe Watson

I would take Brisbane's in a heartbeat, I don't think Matthews gets enough accolades for developing such a good group of young players from such **** draft picks. Hell, it is probably better than Hawthorn's at this stage. Sherman although rather goal hungry = gun

Why would you include Ben Jolley on that list?

He's not on the senior list and there are atleast 4 senior listed young guys better than him, the most obvious Laycock.

Jason Roe is 22 so probably doesn't count. I would swap his name with Adcock who is one of our better youngsters.

Brisbane easily. Mitch Clark will end up the best player from the 2005 draft. Better than thomas, murphy, etc. all of them

Selwood is also 22, but he's always being called a youngster.

Only two or three of the Essendon youngsters you mention will ever play 200 games of AFL footy ...

Stanton and Monfries ... maybe Watson ...

However six or seven of the Brisbane ones might ...

Mitchell Clark, Scott Harding, Michael Rischitelli, Troy Selwood, Justin Sherman, Cheynee Stiller

You can also add Lovett-Murray, Andrew Lovett, Andrew Welsh, Jay Nash and Jason Laycock to Essendons list

Hooper, Harding, Stiller, Wood, Mitchell Clark, Selwood will all be 200 gamers.

Adock and Rischitelli will be a 250 gamers. One of these 2 will become a future captain.

Sherman could possibly be a 300 gamer and Brownlow Medallis, I don't doubt it one bit. 41 consecutive games and he doesn't turn 20 until half way through season 2007.

Brisbane for sure, but i think stanton, monfries and to a lesser extent jolley have lots of potential. Im so sick of everyone overrating laycock, hes a dud, face it.

Sherms will surely play at least 400. Don't sell him short.

LOL shame on the folks who voted for Essendon :)

The bombers youngsters would have to rate alongside the Swans and Adelaide Crows as the worst youth in the AFL.
That is why they probably talked Hird into playing another year ... Sheeds probably knows deep down that once Hird and Fletcher retire etc, that list will become very uncompetetive very quickly. It doesn't help when you have drafted unwisely over the years (Same thing happened to Carlton)
I mean, what's happened to Kepler Bradley ? He was good in 2005, but this year he seems to have gone backwards and put on weight.
Jury's out on Paddy Ryder as well, although he probably will be a good player eventually, but these sort of players always take a few years to develop.

I'am happy with the kids Essendon has an this draft we will add alot with our top picks. I dont care if other team supporters dont rate them we win get some results in a few years.

Brisbane have some talent coming through, but I'd be surprised if Harding plays 50 games.
Rd 1 NAB Cup vs. Essendon, 28 disposal.

Rd 22, 2006 season. Finished with 24 disposals, so he begun to get used to the game. He played as a rover/centreman.

Yep, he's can find the footy at times.
But to me he looks like an inbetween midfielder, not quite in and under, but doesn't break lines. And his disposal by foot is extremely questionable.

Both teams have much, much better young players than Harding.
