Bruce Lehrmann revealed as man charged with two counts of rape in Toowoomba

So-called men’s rights activist and conservative darling Bettina Arndt AO passed the hat around for accommodation, cash and new friends for rapist Bruce Lehrmann. She still claims Lehrmann is the victim but says she has stopped short of chipping in for his legal defence.

I still shake my head that the Morrison govt gave her the AO gong for "services to gender equality". Amazing.

Even the Sydney Uni Conservative Club cancelled Ardnt last month.

Credit to the current NSW Leader of the Opposition (ex-NSW Attorney General) for his stance on Ardnt too.

'The then-NSW Attorney General Mark Speakman wrote to the Governor General requesting a review into Ms Arndt's Order of Australia.

'Ms Arndt is entitled to her free speech, but she is not entitled to be given a platform by the NSW Young Liberals or university clubs.''

The chickens in the Lehrmann rape saga are finally coming home to roost....

the Commissioner “suspects, on reasonable grounds, that Mr Sofronoff’s conduct may constitute corrupt conduct…”

The media has a lot to answer for of course, including The Australian's right wing warrior Janet Albrechtsen who was Sofronoff's confidant during his so-called 'independent' inquiry. But, as per usual they will escape scrutiny of course.

Should we dare get our hopes up?

Victoria Engel.
Another hand picked person to replace Drumgold.

Clearly the amazing job she did as Crown Prosecutor in the NT, failing a prolonged attempt to prosecute Children's Commissioner Colleen Gwynne, who is now seeking damages for the failed trial, is more than enough praise.
This all happened between 2018 - 2023.
2019 also just happened to be when the NT police Commissioner was hand picked to become the Commissioner of the AFP. Who is now in charge of looking into the police conduct around the trial.
Sofronoff was handpicked for the inquiry.
Who handpicks these people?

I look forward to Judy Lind having the full support these handpicked people, to find the truth of the matter.

What I expect to happen is for this to turn into an ABC bash-athon. 'Exposing the need to defund the ABC'.
With little to no reporting on 'The Australian'.
And for the story to struggle due to 'not reporting on ongoing matters'. Ironically.

Anyway, it's all just a conspiracy.

We shouldn't get caught up in all the politics. Let's remember the very real, actual human victims in all of this.
Thoughts and Prayers to Reynolds and Morrison.

don't forget Jenny and the girls ........

Reynolds' behaviour continues to be punitive, in my opinion, which suggests she likely wouldn't have lifted a finger to help in the past either.

Haven't posted in here in a while, and just spent an hour or so catching up (although ICBF reading all of FJ's partisan and tone-deaf walls of words after the first few dozen repetitive posts), but I think this paragraph captures Reynolds as accurately as any. 👍

Yes, the judicial system doesn't really know how to protect anyone but itself, which it does with such zeal, it makes you wonder how they haven't figured out how to protect sexual assault victims as well as they protect themselves.

No judicial findings is going to find against Sofronoff KC. Even though he's clearly had an inappropriate amount of contact with a partisan participant in proceedings.

Anyone who thinks Albrechtson is just an impartial journalist is stretching the bounds of credulity, but it's exactly what Sofronoff will expect us to swallow. And this finding will be inconclusive, as sure as night follows day, judicial investigations into the judiciary never manage to find anything.

The AFP aren't too bad with drug importations after Customs / Border Force do all the work for them
and collect all the evidence, hand it over and then the AFP take the credit. Nice arrangement for them.
Except when the AFP stuff it all up by dobbing in Australians in Indonesia instead of nabbing them on our side of the border.

Or when they tell a mentally ill 14 year old that maybe he should carry out a Jihadi attack.

Or when they tell commercial news agencies in advance about raids on politically sensitive targets.

It seems like they're after the headlines more than they're actually interested in preventing or stopping crime.

They should be disbanded they've become so inept.

How did they come out in the Higgins sexual assault case? Didn't shower themselves in glory there, either.

brittany was always (sadly) up against it. but lehmann has been obliterated both reputationally and financially.
True.
But that's because Lehrmann is a rapist.
Higgins made the mistake of reporting it.

I think Higgins has lost far more than Lehrmann ever deserved to have.
And that the impact of the outcomes of such public stories like this, McBride, Bernard Collaery etc just reinforce that doing the wrong thing is rewarded. And that trying to do the right thing will destroy your life and your family.

What do you think of the Lauga SA accusations?

Do you think she’s done the right thing by coming out in public and saying she’s been drugged and sexually assaulted? That’s a pretty bold move.

I think Higgins did the right thing by speaking up, and maybe she felt that going to the media was her only option.

Of course it’s ruined her life and she didn’t end up being viewed as the hero that perhaps she thought she might be. Poor kid is out en exile, albeit in a lovely little place.

Hopefully more people will find the strength to continue speaking despite the risks, because it is the right thing to do - and it does give other women strength to see a survivor speak up, I think.

Margaret Cunneen…google her
Cunneen is partly to blame for the disgraceful way she bullied Folbigg at the 2019 inquiry into Folbigg's conviction, in the way Cunene acted for Folbigg's ex-husband. An inquiry thats failure to overturn Folbigg's serial baby/infant killer conviction, delayed Folbigg's release and miscarriage of justice compensation by the Government for about 3 years.

'MAY 18, 2024'
...
It became clear, to Rego at least, that what was really on trial was Folbigg’s mothering.

Margaret Cunneen, senior counsel for Craig Folbigg, berated Kathleen, insisting that she hated her children and that she was a bad mother for wanting time alone.

“I felt like saying, ‘So Margaret, when you were raising your kids, you never got angry with them or wanted time out?’

” Rego says. “Kath was held to a standard of motherhood which does not exist.”

Folbigg was also humiliated. Cunneen asked her 69 times if she had killed her children. When Folbigg finally broke down, Cunneen remarked, “Well, poor Kathy.”

In the end, Blanch reaffirmed Folbigg’s conviction, claiming that the evidence had made her guilt “even more certain”.
...
‘The Folbigg case is a huge embarrassment for the NSW legal system … [We’d had] a grieving mother in jail for 20 years.’'

Check her form in an inquiry into the Catholic Church in Newcastle…

Oh by the way, I hear she’s big into the Rule of Law Society as well.

Or check her efforts in coaching the sons girlfriends driving issues

Linda Reynolds says she's been the victim of 'vile trolling' over Brittany Higgins case as defamation trial continues

1716270041660.png

In March, Justice Marcus Solomon issued orders for the parties to meet face to face, which saw the pair fly in from France, where they now live, to meet with Senator Reynolds.
Mr Sharaz has since indicated, through his lawyers, he doesn't wish to continue to fight Senator Reynolds and is desperate to achieve a settlement.
Meanwhile, the court has heard Ms Higgins' mental health is so bad her lawyers were at one point unable to get her instruction to prepare for trial.

Political corruption and coverups are expected as part of Australian politics.
This is just evil.
When will the abuse of Higgins stop?

Careful or the not so esteemed ms Reynolds will call you a troll

(I already know she will regard me as one, but she has not demonstrated to me that she works in a productive field so I cast on her that level of contempt anyway)
