That seems like dead levels of alcohol

According to the University of Notre Dame, a blood alcohol concentration of 0.250-0.399% is considered to be alcohol poisoning, and a loss of consciousness can be expected. At .40%, coma and death due to respiratory arrest are possible.

The highest BAC ever recorded was of a Polish man was involved in a car crash—his BAC was measured at 1.48%. Doctors stated he somehow survived this level of intoxication but later died due to his injuries from the car crash.

If you’ve got a massive tolerance you won’t drop dead but yeah every time anyone gets up to that level you’re putting your liver through the ringer anyway like a months worth of work for it in a day.

Being able to get in the car and operate it at that level (and the time of day midweek) suggests a massive tolerance and probably alcoholism, if that’s the case I hope he gets the help he needs and that he considers himself very lucky he didn’t do any harm to himself or worse, others by getting behind the wheel in that state.

That's a staggering number. Ran some quick numbers on a BAC calculator and assuming he started at midday, that's the equivalent of a case of beer or a bottle of spirits across the afternoon - and then driving straight after.

10 months isn't much of a disqualification for that level of alcohol.
A joke. And a stern reminder to always keep your eyes and focus on the road coz you never what what inebriated maniac is coming from the other direction 😑

That punishment is UTTERLY pathetic for the dangers he caused to innocent civilians.

You should legitimately go to jail and lose your license for a decade minimum if you do something like that.

A car driving at normal speeds with a guy that drunk behind the wheel is a death waiting to happen.

No doubt he'll be doing it again in a few months time, and he'll get another slap on the wrist. Then when he kills someone they'll read out his long long list of DUI offences and people will wonder why he was ever allowed to drive in the first place... Deja vu.
