Of course, even losing 1 finals match would have definitely helped understanding the intensity and prep required. What about the dogs 2016?
Would 1 elim final the year before make that much difference to their ‘experience’?
I think they can definitely get to the prelim, if they make the granny, I don't think they're winning it due to lack of finals experience and the coach/system being flaky. There's better coached/managed clubs. If 1997 Blight was coaching the Crows in 2025, I think they would have a chance.Maybe not so many premierships, but there are high-fliers.
Sydney 1996 had been out of finals for nine years.
Collingwood 2002 had been out of finals for eight years.
Collingwood 2018 had been out of finals for five years.
There are a few premiers that didn’t play finals the previous year, such as Melbourne 2021, Richmond 2017, Geelong 2007, Adelaide 1997.

Because if they make the grand final, I'm sure they'll face a more experienced/better coached team. I don't think Nicks and his coaching team are that great, and they probably won't handle the pressure.but why would experience hurt if they've made it to the gf? They would have already won two on their way there, would that experience not help them?

Collingwood and Brisbane are the best managed teams. Although, Collingwood's poor form late in the season may mess them up, so I'd say Brisbane and Geelong maybe their biggest hurdles. Gold Coast, although not gonna be contenders this year, have great management the AFL set up for them...A better-coached team?
Such as…

Yeah, Crows play crap footy, hopeless attack, have done nothing to upgrade the defense, rank low in both for and against, rubbish %, none of their players seem interested in the gameolan, none seem to play by team rules, none seem to care less. They haven't shown any heart and resolve to come back from losing positions. And finally, they'll struggle to make the 8 with such a hopeless footy department.Collingwood and Brisbane are the best managed teams. Sides tend to not win them unless they’ve had recent finals experience. It’s just the trend. You haven’t played finals in 8 years.but why would experience hurt if they've made it to the gf? They would have already won two on their way there, would that experience not help them?
Weird. At the beginning of the year, pundits were talking up the lists of Collingwood, Brisbane and Geelong, but it’s Adelaide that’s top. Nope, not a contender. Yet.
Very good but like WB and GWS they look a million bucks when the game is on their terms but can be pretty ordinary when it isn't.
Total losing margin for the Crows so far this season, that is to say all five losses added together, is, I think 59 points.
I'm not sure that that meets the criteria for "pretty ordinary ".

I think recovering after giving up the first 5 goals vs Hawthorn showed resilience and maturity.Nope, not a contender. Yet.
Very good but like WB and GWS they look a million bucks when the game is on their terms but can be pretty ordinary when it isn't. Unlike those sides they don't have recent finals experience either.
Have given themselves every chance being in the running for a top 2 spot but I think they might get a reality check in the finals. I've got more faith in other sides in the 8 to play poorly and win. Will be great experience for the group however it pans out.
Currently stands at 15-5. That's 300%. Percentage by points for versus points against is currently 144%. Strong chance of improving on both of those by the end of the minor round. What's the W-L record?

No it's ellen
Elcohol? Many Victorians tend to swap their ‘el’ and ‘Al’ pronunciation around, so Ellen does actually sound like ‘Allan’.
They also buy their alcohol at Eldi
Peaked way too early, they showed they're fragile under pressure even against weak opposition, they'll be out in straight sets in come finals time. They found a way to win tonight even after the game looked lost.
It’s a sign of a good side, they look primed heading into finals
