Coach Carlton under Voss

Yea they have made a huge rod for their own backs if he really does make it to next year and things still aren't good.

On the flip side, if Wright assembles a team to support Voss and next year genuinely goes well for us, perhaps we may finally be able to shake the tag of coach killers/poisoned chalice for aspiring coaches in the future.

I'm hopeful that occurs, but I'm pretty much expecting the exact opposite tbh.

Yea that could happen too. Change the scene around Voss and allow him to refresh things. So long as Voss acknowledges he must chop the list at least a bit and aim to play in a more worthwhile manner and not make it such a chore for everyone.

Agree. Keeping Voss as well and 'selling' (if you want to call it that) a list refresh is not ideal but what they will have to do.

I feel like it's all of the above. The Club are definitely hoping it's the later.

Would mean having to turn over the list and with their gun players getting older it could set them back into a complete rebuild and another 6-7 years pit of finals

Blues 22u22 team reps last 4 years

Draper Treacy amiss and Voss , Reid could be selected this year.
Freo have won 7 more game than blues since Voss has been coach with a team btm 4 for age and experience.
Now starting to mature to a list demographic like what Voss took over we are hoping to fall in to a prelim due to oppo having a bad day..

The guy will be coming into his 10th year of head coaching and his happy clappy supporters are saying all he needs is good assistants around him.

So what that tells you is he can't coach for shit and needs better coaches around him to cover up all of his long list of deficiencies.

If they're anyone near rational about it (debatable I know lol), they know that it will be ugly for the next few years at least irrespective of who's coaching.

I'm reading it more that they're trying to shake the 'sack the coach' stuff that is usually applicable to us and just let him see out his contract, Vossy is gone by '27 regardless of results next year (well, outside of a shock result like making finals but I think we all know that ain't happening).

Both, but more the 2nd one - we can't really play any other way than the taxing, contested, bash and crash way we do.

No runners/outside class, no elite ball users. Basically don't have the cattle to play a modern game style.
