Geelong has played in front of a combined 238,918 people over the last 3 weeks. That was about 30,000 less people than we played in front of for the entire 2022 finals series.

All of King, Dunstall, Lyon and Jack Riewoldt making an embarrassment of themselves as usual on live TV is the perfect way to savour a gutsy Geelong win. That was as one-sided barracking as you could get from a bunch of flogs.

Loved some of his efforts in that last quarter. He’ll get a lot from that.

His want and intent is first class. His body is just not where his brain and his heart is at. The issue is whether he can physically catch up but we need to try to persist.

Has to stay in all year if he keeps playing like that. A class above our other depth players

You can only play him again certain teams. No legspeed. But he was all heart tonight.

COS is doing outstandingly for a guy with less than 10 games but I agree he's not s brute physically and can get outbodied as can sdk. They need 3rd man in help and didn't get enough of it. If Stewart gets fit and Henry gets back it will help.
The ruck situation is still a massive issue though.
Kolo and j Henry give us a lot more options in the ruck - it frees up blitz and SDK if required

Amazing that in all the sooking about umpiring there was none that there is no world in which Blicavs should be paid HTB against him in that scenario. No prior, very simple.

Dunstall is usually pretty good, but King and Lyon are horrrrrrrrrrrrrrendous. You can tell they're still mentally scarred by Geelong.

It does but i don't think sdk is up to it against the bigger rucks and it's asking a lot for a 34yo blitz to do it (plus that robs other parts of our structure). I would put someone like Guthrie on the inactive and bring a mature ruck in via the MSD (assuming kreuger isn't getting re-listed by us) but I've said my piece on it and I doubt we will do it

Not so sure , he was clearly trying to hold the ball to kill the clock. But plenty of decisions went against us vs Carlton so swings and roundabouts.

It was definitely HTB. He made no attempt to dispose of the ball. That should be HTB every single time. I was impressed that the umpire had the stones to call it in such a big moment.

The ‘Oh no moment’ you saw Schultz take the mark + lining up for goal.
Blitz was asked if he touched the ball + replied he did touch the ball. He continued: “Honestly, yeah I touched it. I was looking at the replay + I thought that doesn’t look like I’ve touched it. No, I hadn’t touched the ball. Umpire decision was inconclusive, so it went our way.”

Then asked of his thoughts ‘Oh no thoughts when Cripps was lining up in place to kick goal.’

Blitz: “I was on the far wing (???) by myself, thinking if he kicks this, what a mistake I’ve made, I’m retiring. That’s what were my thoughts.” Blitz continued, praising Cripps’ career.

Panel discussion, Blitz is an honest guy.

This guy: “I think we’ve seen the culture too, really come to the fore again for Geelong too. Because they’re really backing Bailey Smith regarding the middle finger gestures, over the past couple of weeks. They’ve really throwing their arms around him.

I think we’ve really seen the Culture come to the fore again with Geelong. Because they’re backing Bailey Smith over the middle finger gestures, over past couple of weeks + really throwing their arms around him. He’s really repaid them on the field tonight. As you said it Jack (Riewoldt) a couple of bumpy weeks.

GAJ in the rooms tonight speaking with Blitz. “He is the Swiss Army Knife of this football club. At this point he is the only bona fide ruckman, but he can play anywhere. He’s the ripcord: We need you to play in defence, we need you to play on the wing + I reckon there are so many players learning from Mark Blicavs.

Stanley if fit is our best option.

But if he isn’t, our best option is blitz, Neale and sdk sharing the load. J Henry and Kolo being back makes it much easier to do this.

David King: “One man stood between Collingwood + victory. I should say, four men in green + one with #35. Jack, it’s a factor! It’s a factor! They got 14 of the last 18 free kicks.” Blah, blah, blah. “But Collingwood were hard done by in that last 12 minutes of football.”

Maaaaaate. Let it go.
You've harped on this ruck MSD for about 4 years now and we time and time again either pick no one or go nowhere near a tall player.

It's a weird hill you're on with this.

Good fight back from mid 3rd quarter to late in the 4th. It was a bit disappointing that, when it seemed we'd gained ascendancy and momentum, we seemed to slack off. It was amazing that we didn't have players back to negate the final forward entry. Our defence overall was so slack in the last five minutes.
We were protecting the deeper entry which I don't mind tbh
