I'm now reading from some Geelong fans on socials that we screwed up not waiting around & that it at poor from the club 🤦‍♀️

Sorry, but he's not retiring, the guy is being delisted & hopeful of finding a new club -just imagine lining up to form a guard of honour & then lining up against the guy in round 6 next season when we face the Eagles
Exactly. Plus preparation for finals starts straight away, not after he's finished doing selfies with tiger fans.

100%
I wonder how we will prepare for the QF recognising we have had a relatively easy ride over the last 6 weeks?
Whatever it is I'll back the coaches to have worked on this and have strategies in place to address it.

Huge opportunity in front of us - a QF win and we're only 2 away from another Cup
I think people over-analyse stuff like this a little too much at times, and retrospectively chalk up a good/bad result to a particular factor.

2022, we had a soft as butter run in the finals (StKilda, Gold Coast, West Coast at home), and then played one of the all-time great finals series.

Yeah - whatever we did for 2022 let's hope it's just as effective.
We've timed our season well and are heading into Finals with a virtually full and healthy list - that's a great start !

Which other delisted player received a guard of honour?

46k is honestly pretty decent for a team that has been shit for the last two years, and is playing out a dead rubber that they had zero realistic chance of winning.

I don't want to think about our attendances if we do eventually bottom right out.
Agree, however, one of their long time servants was retiring, you’d expect more of the 100k members to turn up. Given at least 10k were Cats fans, that’s a very low attendance for Macintosh

Yeah, but I'm not sure he was ever in richmond's best 23, has eked out a career being a around the 22-26 best players at the tiges and the first in whenever there is an injury.
It would have been like asking the Geelong faithful to turn out for Brandin Parfitt's last match

Same thing happened last year.

Suddenly the soft run in (plus demolition of Port) was to blame, rather than the Holmes injury and brilliant Brisbane second half.

It's only maybe applicable if you get annihilated in the first 10 minutes, but even then, there's a lot of confirmation bias in it.

If we're up for the fight early and get beaten in the second half in the QF, I don't think it's because we magically remembered we had a soft run-in.

It'll be because they're better than us, or mitigating circumstances on the day.

Simple, they will look at how Brisbane have played recently, what their likely match ups against us will be, what has worked for us in the past, where they can exploit us, and how to get the ball to Scratcher Neale so he can kick 7.

He should line up for the Bulldogs next year.

Beveridge won't take him though. Not a midfielder

Have noticed a few Tigers supporters on social media have taken exception to Chris Scott admitting we put the cue in the rack at half time in his post match press conference. Hilarious.

Anyone with a brain could tell we did.. Poor Tiger fans actually thought we were trying 100% in the second half? :drunk:

We technically did and he chose to retire rather than chase a contract at another club
I thought Menegola did try to find a new home but there was no takers which is when he retired

Zouz Kitty I recommend listening to Zach's smooth reassurances and having some chamomile tea. It should get you right back to level. :)
Missed this on Saturday night.

Thank you for thinking of me ☺️

Fortunately a few Cosmopolitan cocktails soothed me 🍸🍸🍸
