Unofficial Preview Changes and pre-match discussion vs St Kilda

Harry is in his third season. McKercher is in his second and FOS is in his first. They've barely started their careers. Its going thru this stuff that builds resilience. Its doesn't kill it. If you can't hack it you never had that resilience to begin with.

Its taken Darcy four years to be on the verge of becoming a superstar. In a pretty good side. You could say the same about Paul Curtis because his start to the season was elite by any standards. It was his fourth year too. Darcy isn't there yet but he does have that Carey like ability to take contested marks. (Sort of. Dunno how he'd perform under the sort of physical pressure Carey copped.) Paulie isn't either but if he builds on his start to the season next year he'll be the best non kp forward in the game by a mile.

I’m more interested in seeing where Harry, FOS, McK are at 25 years of age

And throw in Whitlock for that matter

If they don't respond we will know they are not fair dinkum
They'll respond.

But it will be a loss.

St Kilda will be going into this game like they could bunch god in the face the amount of belief they will have.

us on the other hand, it belief was water we've been baking in the middle of the Sahara for 6 years. We are out.

We will likely just return to our regular pattern of losing the game in a 10 minute stretch where the opposition pile on goals.

wouldn't mind giving good Goad a run, considering Marshall is more of a transitional ruck, who is ranked last for hitouts

Throw everything at these blokes. Seriously I don't hate the bring in Wardlaw, Payne, keep Konstanty in, keep Banch in, and tell everyone go hell for leather for 120 minutes, damn the torpedoes. If there was ever a time for a response it would be now. Leave nothing on the table. If they don't respond we will know they are not fair dinkum
We already know they're not fair dinkum

I’d look at a minimum of 5 changes this week, need to make a bit of a statement on a few as well.

Out - CD, Logue, JK, Hansen Jnr & Maley
In - Larkey, Payne, Harvey, Wardlaw, Ford

Backs - Ford, Pink, Hardeman
CHB - Kerch, Comben, Dursmaa
Wing - Stephens, LDU, FOS
CHF - Payne, Darling, Curtis
FF - Banch, Larkey, Zurhaar
Ruck - Teakle, Parker, Wardlaw
Bench - Sheez, Powell, Jy, W Dawson, Harvey

Could easily make a couple more changes but hate making more than 5 changes unless injuries force your hand.

Haha this is about as optimistic as we can be.

REALLY hoping for some experimentation now. Current crop is unwilling, or unable, to execute whatever game plan we have.

I reckon if we are able to bring two tactical things into the game, we might keep the result to under 40 points
  1. Someone has to run with Nas
  2. Don't attempt a corridor kick from the D50, cause you will not hit that pass

With losses like last week, you typically 'back them in' or 'make a statement'.

We've taken option A too many times over the last couple of years.

Radio silence from the club this week. Disappointing. Particularly with a downward trend line the last month, and that cherry served up on Saturday night.

I believe it's time for a statement. If it's 2/3 changes with regulars resuming their positions, and none of the untouchables going out, I'll be p1ssed off.

Caleb Daniel has to be an out or we are taking the piss

He should be the first regular to make way

ATM I'm pre-p1ssed off ... I'm p1ssed off now because I know I'm going to be p1ssed off.

(BTW, I'm not the sort who always asks for a swing of the axe, most scenarios need support for the team. however, the occasional foot up the r's is needed, and I think now is the time. If there are no significant changes, with no communication from the club this week, it feels like the club is acting like nothing ever happened - that's why I think statement at selection should be the result).

Nothing will change because the message was in the Clarko press conference

Anyone posting about wholesale changes these next 48 hours is wasting their time

I think North win. Playing our bogie teams Hawks, Bulldogs, and Cats just deflated the team IMO. We were competitive against the Dogs until the final 30 minutes, and every other game, we were similarly there 3/4 of the games. Cut out some of the noise, and if the team puts in an effort thats more consistent with the majority of games played this year, they will beat the Saints.

The Saints played their GF last week - they don't have a huge amount to play for. I expect a bit of a hangover against North.,

Konstanty tries hard & brings good energy but is ultimately very limited at AFL level.

Logue is so useless that Comben can’t stay forward, and Pink has to take the key roles, and we need Lever apparently.

Daniel is useless. Can’t kick, can’t defend.

If Hansen could only find the ball…love his skills, don’t think he does enough though.

Those 4 out has to happen imo. 2 won’t make it’s, and 2 past its

Love this. The more changes the better. After last week we can't afford to back the same line up in. We need a refresh.
