Duggan out for Jetta and Vardy out for Kennedy. I will be livid if Hutchings gets dropped he has been sensational the last half of the season.

Id like to see this. Vardy has not offered anything IMO and Lycett went well against Grundy last time by himself after NN went down. OAllen was great this week, I think he set up the first 3 goals of the second quarter. Having him JK and JD will stretch any backline in addition to having Willie, Cripps and Ryan buzzing around their feet. Vardy is surplus.
Duggan was very good for a period this year but his last few games have been woeful. Schoey has been brilliant the past few games he has played and Barrass has been among the best for a few weeks (not so much this week). I think schoey could play the running halfback role very well, he has pace and swervability.
I dont think these will be the changes but Id like to see it. Most likely Schoey and Allen out for JK and Jets.

Yes some of Jetta’s turnovers kill momentum or result in goals for opposition ..Jetta has been reasonable this year learning a new position probably why ppl turn a blind eye to his stuff ups ..

A couple of inside passes were attrochious last game Jetta played. Cost two goaks at least.

Do that in a final and it could cost us a flag.

I understand taking risks but geez these wete total brain farts.

Kennedy for Allen

I do feel Jetta should be in the side, this year he has lifted his game. His speed and ball skills are needed, the only risk is if he brings his "A" game. Schoey comes out for Jetta

You forgot to mention that his handballing, decision making and kicking is a worry also.

He has a little improvement left in him, so hopefully those things will get honed. I don’t think they are as bad as people make out. I don’t disagree that it could be better but they aren’t horrible.

To me, worst thing is that he is flat footed allowing players to waltz past him as he just doesn’t react fast enough.

I wish we had a different ruck to drop Lycett. Can't help but dislike him at the moment...

Wants to be first ruck or threatens leaving, gets first ruck and still threatens leaving. Promises the world without Nic Nat, doesn't deliver. Gone are the good old days of Nic Nat feeding it down the throat of Shuey who runs onto a 50m goal.

One thing about Luke Partington is he is very sloppy and Im glad we are not giving games to players that cant use the ball. You can get away with that at wafl level but in the AFL it will kill us.

Sick of hear people talk like Luke Partington is some kind of saviour. Its obvious that he needs to work on his skills and decision making. Having Sheed and Duggan is enough. Dont want anymore poor users.

It all comes down to skills. Stats mean nothing. Get 30 possies a game but if you turn it over 10 times then you become a liability to us at AFL level. Its a standard and Partington isnt up to it.
Getting hands on it isnt enough.

Duggan is on thin ice and he shpuld be dropped. He would probally be getting 30 possies aswell if we dropped him. Ball use is what they look for. Oscar Allen played because he is smart with the ball.
Right, in your humble opinion of course?
You're "sick of people talking like Partington is some saviour"...?? Sorry, who are you again?
It doesn't bother me one way or another, whether Parto is in or out, I was curious as to why he is out,
or never mentioned in the emergencies?- given his stats - and 3 goals are pretty respectable and
accountable stats in most games.
Obviously he is not in favour, or in the coaches plan for some reason...
whether that's the reason you suggest, who knows? - I'd be more inclined to trust someone on BF
with a less aggressive posting demeanour...good luck with Duggan.

I am reading this thread with interest.
While some logically suggested the best team to beat Collingwood, some surprisingly want newer players to come in for "training and development" reasons.
Though we have a second chance in the final series, there is one and only one goal - Win every game in September!

Brining in inexperienced players for a final is crazy talk. Suggesting Nelson, M Allen, Oscar or Partington come in is silly as is dropping Lycett.

Barrass takes Cox and stays with him, gets in front and bodies him out of the contest.

Gov plays loose and our other defenders man up.

Schofield plays on that Mihocek tall who kicked 3.2 v Freo.

Gov is our loose intercept player in defense.

Allan out for JK and Jetta comes in for Duggan or potentially Le cras. Both had poor DE% and didnt get much of it.

Collingwood will probably look to tag Gov, they tried Mihoceck on him last time and he failed miserably.

Is it possible Kennedy comes in for Allen and Jetta comes in for Duggan.

Schofield can play tall or small and give us the speed off half back.
Given that he can also be a lock down defender on their best forward. Barrass is more of a intercept player like gov and this would give us flexibility whereas Duggan is limited in who he plays on.

Vardy won more hitouts than Lycett did.

This, if we went with one ruck it would be Vardy in my view. Lycett is very very average.
Watching Lycett the last few weeks he is extremely uncoordinated. How a player at this level can consistently get his timing wrong is staggering.
Vardy has been far superior in the ruck the last few weeks and offers much more of a contest everywhere.

More likely play Hoskin-Elliot on him and get him to lead hard and tell the mids to use him.

Gov isnt super quick and doesnt like manning up and defending.
Johnson from Port did the best job on him all year. Just ran everywhere with him, made his life hard.

Vardy was better in the ruck on sunday, will give you that but otherwise you are living in opposite land.

He is also pretty shit around the ground. Someone like MacEvoy, who is also pretty uncoordinated, uses his height to get involved in the contest and takes plenty of grabs especially at FB and FF. We need him to be involved more. He is a really disappointing ruckman.

Geez pull up a bit.

We are trying to land band 2 compo for the guy.

At least wait until he has gone before letting rip.

With Buckley coaching and playing under Malthouse for so many years, it will be interesting to see if Collingwood will play the man-on-man style in the Qualifying Final vs the WCE

Who was it against though? Their first or second ruck?

I wish those sort of stats were available, would be fairly easy now the rucks have to nominate.

Percentage of Lycett/Martin contests won by each, percentage of Lycett/McInerney contests won by each, etc.

Gov had the last laugh though he took Johnson fwd and made him defend whilst he clunked the mark and ended Ports finals campaign..
