One of these guys will take Cox. No team has an ideal match up for that giant, us included. I'm not sure who is better suited. Schoey would probably fair better in the 1 on 1s. But if our defence plays well on Saturday there won't be an occasion where anyone is one out against Cox. I think we'd be better off backing in the smarts of Hurn/Shep/Gov/Barrass as a unit to nullify him.

Age old technique that has fallen out of favour due to MRP chook lotto. Have you missed the last 15 years of "the bump is dead"?Just an interesting aside.Ive noticed a little tactic creeping in whereby some sides are targeting the chaser.I think its a great idea for WC as we are a big side.E.G. say Hurn running out of defence ball in hand Varcoe in hot pursuit.Instead of running off for a handball go the bump on Varcoe. It must certainly make those annoying /nippy defensive forwards suddenly worry about being hunted instead of being the hunter. I think its a great tactic and im suprised more sides dont use it.

Appears to be sneaking back into favour.Lets call it a violent shepherd instead!People coming at you fast from the side tends to take some concentration off what your chasing.Age old technique that has fallen out of favour due to MRP chook lotto. Absolutely!... no way will Sheed be dropped. And that was when we also had Gaff, so we could afford it.
Right now, Sheed is basically playing Gaff's role as an outside linkman. I don't really see the rational behind dropping him if we aren't bringing anyone in to replace him, going by your ins.
That remains to be seen...bringing in youth/inexperience for finals is not a good idea unless you have no choice.I know they'll drop Allen and Schofield, but if it was me I'd be leaving Sheed out and keeping our kids with huge upsides like Allen and Venables in as a priority. Sheed has reached his ceiling, and it's pretty low. The pies will make him pay for his lack of speed and tackling intent
Do you remember what happened last time Hurn bumped some poor campaigner.Just an interesting aside.Ive noticed a little tactic creeping in whereby some sides are targeting the chaser.I think its a great idea for WC as we are a big side.E.G. say Hurn running out of defence ball in hand Varcoe in hot pursuit.Instead of running off for a handball go the bump on Varcoe. It must certainly make those annoying /nippy defensive forwards suddenly worry about being hunted instead of being the hunter. Righto pal. You've obviously got a much higher opinion of players of Sheeds skill set than I have. He's only slightly better than Callum ChambersThis is a final, not a pre-season game. You pick the 22 most likely to win you the game this week, not some hypothetical game in two years.
Whoever plays on Cox needs to get in his face and niggle him. A team niggle. I can't remember which game it was but Cox got really distracted when the opposition were bumping him for no reason and pushing him etc. Gave away frees and was really put off his game. I got the impression, given his background, it really wasn't something he was used to. It's finals, bring it on.
Hopefully for us, not the game I was thinking of...Melbourne tried that on Queens B'day.
His stats: 16 Disposals, 8 Marks, 5 goals

A true patriotHaha... It happens rarely but he does love the big stage. His best performances have come on Anzac Day and Queen's B'day.
Grundy? At first ruck contest ...go straight at cox with your kneee like all the rucks do against Nic Nat .....
Play on .....
Grundy’s coxGrundy?
I wouldn’t mind seeing Ah Chee in for Sheed but the issue there is that Ah Chee seems to have trouble with getting a lot of ball so we need Sheed there to help covering for GaffNot against Sheed being dropped as he's our weakest link through the middle, but Ainsworth can't come in with his bad disposal by foot. Partington won't be selected no matter what he does. Ah Chee can't get the same amount of ball, but would be much more damaging per disposal and have a much bigger impact physically.
I think Sheed or Ah Chee are the best options, Sheed the safer bet, Ah Chee more high risk high reward. Wish we had a bit better midfield depth but hoping he pulls through for his best finals game to date. I'll be at the game and very excited to watch this all go down.
