Changes for round 2

If Bailey drops Buckley I'll spew on my head. I have a suspicion that Morton may be dropped, he seemed fairly overawed by the occasion early on in proceedings.

But yes I thoroughly agree with those changes BBS5:thumbsu:

Personally I'd leave Garland in. Didn't set the world alight, but I think he's one of those who we're gonna have to be patient with. Please no Grgic references either. Morton needs to stay too.

Out: Yze, Weetra, Wheatley, Miller (won't happen though:()

In: Rivers, Dunn, Frawley, Sylvia

If anything, we need to get games into out next batch of youngsters. That means no more wasted games through Yze. Frawley must play and learn to adapt to the speed of the elite level. Dunn should be cementing his spot like Bate and Bell have recently done. Bartram needs time to get readjusted to AFL level, but he will and the more game time Morton gets, the better off we will be.

Yep spot on mate :thumbsu:

Is Maric ready to play yet? because our tired forward line needs someone to stand up and be counted (as opposed to laying down and being mounted).

I think he's bottom aged, still in school IIRC. So if he's to play, I reckon it's like throwing the lad in the deep end real quick. Mind you, if we were to do something like that, against the Dogs wouldn't be too bad an option given they play a team of short people

WHy are people down on garland. thought he was played out of postion today, played well against the cats (nab cup) as a roaming foward not in the backline!!!

Leave the kids in. Id rather see us get a beaten with some youngsters having a go than with the pea hearted stiffs that we have in the team now.

After getting through the Sandy game today unscathed, I'd like to see Rivers, Bartram, Whelan, Dunn, Sylvia and even Frawley get a gig. Out go any one of about 10 players who did stuff all.

If Dunn doesn't get a game and is fully fit I'll be spewing. He's one of our most talented prospects. Chuck him in the guts and get a bit of ****ing agression in there and I don't mean Brent "slide into some kid's back to look tough" Moloney.

In: Dunn, Frawley, Rivers, Sylvia

Out: Yze, Weetra, Miller, Garland

It's not as bad when I see blokes like Garland be pushed around by bigger opponents but Miller constantly gets pushed off the ball. I thought that he was meant to be our massive gym junkie? I wanted to give Garland another shot but room is needed for Rivers and Frawley down back. Weetra, however, needs much more improvement at Sandy.

Stick it out dee fans coming from a Fitzroy fan it could be a whole lot worse. Don't worry about these stupid geelong fans they'll go in to obscurity for the next 44 years again.

Holland/Meesen/Jamar ?

?

No, no and no. Rivers and Frawley are ahead of Holland for a key defensive spot. The Bulldogs don't have any giants anyway.

As for Meesen and Jamar.......Paul Johnson's effort today was one of the few positive aspects so he's got a spot at least for next week.

Caroll and millers time is up surely. Their dfensive abilities are nothing more than a joke. Carrol was so far behind his opponent. He looks as if he sttruggles to read the play.

Out: Weetra, Miller, Garland, Yze

In: Rivers, Dunn, Frawley, Whelan (hopefully)

Bartram will still be injured, as will Bate

I think 8 Changes is required:

B: Bell Frawley Holland
HB: C Johnson Martin Rivers
C: Mclean Bruce Moloney
HF: Dunn Newton Sylvia
F: Robertson Neitz Green
Ruck: P Johnson Jones McDonald
Inter: Morton Meeson Davey Wheatley
Emer: Bode Warncok Buckley

In: Dunn Sylvia Meeson Frawley Holland Rivers C Johnson Martin
Out: Weetra Buckley Garland Yze White Carroll Pettard Miller

* This backline is much stronger than comparing to round 1
* If Davey can't permform, then I think its time to try Maric.
* Ben Holland have a good record against the dogs. Bring him in.
* Try Martin instead of Carroll. Carroll is useless.
* Drop White and try P Johnson & Meeson. Sooner or later it will happen because White cant ruck forever.

Pretty dramatic, but something dramatic has to happen down there and they all need a swift boot in the ass.

But i cant see dropping Buckley as the right thing, after showing a bit of balls and trying to run the lines and taking on blokes.

White needs to be the first ruck option, because we cant put our rucking hope in some bloke who played 2 games in 3 or 4 years at the Crows

As for Carroll he needs to stay in as he is our best fullback for the time being.

As for Miller, he and Dutchy shouldnt play again and Martin should take over as the 'Gorilla Tamer' for the rest of the season

Really like the look of that team though would make a couple of changes to it.
1. Would keep Petterd in for CJ
2. White has to stay, even if he does ruck number 2.

Totally agree with dropping Carroll and Miller. The bulldogs do not have a big forward line. There keys down there are most likely to be Johnson, Welsh and Murphy so the backline you named can easily handle them.

B: Bell, Carroll, Frawley
HB: Bruce, Rivers, Petterd
C: Green, McLean, Buckley
HF: Sylvia, Miller, Davey
F: Robbo, Neitz, Newton
R: White, Jones, McDonald

I/C: PJohnson, Moloney, Dunn, Morton/Bode

In: Sylvia, Frawley, Dunn, Rivers, (Bode)
Out: Garland, Weetra, Yze, Wheatley, (Morton)

- Hard to find a direct match up for Garland/Wheatley in the Dogs' forward line, if you have a look at their multiple goal scorers on the weekend (Johnson, Welsh, Giansiracusa), you'll see there's little point in having talls down there. Minson does play down forward a bit but Leigh Newton could play on him and beat him.
- Also I wouldn't be overly surprised to see Bode in the team for a bit more run out of the backline, possibly in place of Morton, but another part of me would like to keep him in there for another game.
- I'm fed up with Miller, IMO as soon as Bate's ready he should be dropped, but really if Rivers is going to be back there's little point in having him in defence. It may be futile, but let's try to stretch their defence.
