That’s the thing no one in the media has picked up on.

As deaneus pointed out, throw in the easier draw and that says it all.

We are f’ed.

They showed on On The Couch last night a ladder when you exclude games v Gold Coast. We were the team most advantaged by playing them and from memory we dropped down to about 13/14th....!!! That's an indication of the impact of the draw right there.

I saw that, but if you’re excluding 2 games because we’ve played Gold Coast, what about the teams that haven’t played Gold Coast or only once, what games do they get excluded if any?

One of the most common lines from perennial loser clubs like Carlton, Melbourne etc is "sure we aren't winning but we are matching it with the opposition for periods of the game so we know our best is good enough, we just need to do it for longer"

Sound familiar?

Weren't we all laughing at Bolton after the doco Carlton did earlier in the year where he was telling the team that things are positive if you look at quarters won this year...

So we're now getting close to that BS denial at the Crows....FMD!!

We're also 1 of 2 teams to have played them twice so far, so we'd have a game in hand over most other teams (we'd have played 15 games, most clubs would have played 16).

We've scored 270pts against them, and conceded 102. That reduces our For & Against to 1139 & 1177, reducing our percentage from 110.16% to 96.77%. That's going to hurt, even if we do have an extra game in hand!

Yeah... playing them twice was a big impact but as you pointed out Vader...big percentage boost.

Want to see just how conservative the Crows are relative to other sides? Here's how many players from Round 1, 2016 were still in a club's respective side last round

Carlton - 7
Collingwood - 7
Brisbane - 8
Hawthorn - 8
Melbourne - 8
Port Adelaide - 8
St Kilda - 8
Essendon - 9
Geelong - 9
Sydney - 9
West Coast - 9
Western Bulldogs - 9
North Melbourne - 10
Richmond - 11
Adelaide - 15

We're all on the clubs back about playing youth. This is one way of demonstrating that fact. Last night on Talking Footy they showed another way of demonstrating our lack of playing the youth. Of all the clubs since 2016 mabe 2015 till now we have had the least number of Rising Star nominations. ( iam not sure if somebody else has mentioned this )

So hereare two methods of confirming what we are all getting upset about.

It is bad, but is there any correlation to performance?

Jones in straight swap for Murphy. Murphy is ok and tries hard - perhaps he could end up as good as Puopolo one day? Jones could do what Murphy does now and get experience going forward, in the hope he improves our team sooner rather than later.
Fogarty in to play up forward alongside Jenkins and Tex - Hartigan out, reshuffle backline with one more attacking runner.
Wilson in for Mackay. Reward SANFL form. See what he's got.

I wonder how that overlays with the ladder in 2016

Not good when you read that your captain will likely be fit to play and you sigh.
Captain has a niggle 5 weeks out from finals.
Option A: Take the opportunity to give him a much needed rest and avoid flaring up the injury, also giving some much needed experience to our depth should the unthinkable happen in September
Option B: Play an underdone captain, get less than usual output, risk flaring up injury, deny youth/depth player experience

Hmmmmm, wonder which option we till take.

Also they mention Hart saying nobody is immune from demotion, even Tex.
The past few weeks just seem to be various people in the club rotating between saying "No one is safe", and "back them in to respond."

We just need to find a way to play Fogarty & Gooch. These first rounders are starting to look like misses if we let them toil away in the SANFL.
This is f’ed, there is genuinely going to be no unforced changes this week

You are surprised????

This is the same selection lunacy that happened after the Showdown train-wreck when we took all of the 22 players who played in the Showdown plus 6 others up to the GC.

Not a single player out of the Showdown was "dropped" as they ALL got on the plane and were therefore ALL deemed available for selection.

That act alone 2 weeks ago was the final nail for me.

This club can get f'ed.
