'The Fogarty is crap' line that gets taken by posters doesnt really make a point here though does it?

Because Otten's not been up to it in two years, and only one of them can get better.

I recall another player that was regarded as crap, wasn't ready, will never make it and lo and behold he finally got his chance - played 4 or 5 games in a row and now is a first choice player.

ROB anyone.

Don Pyke : "Age is just a number." Clueless.

The GPS data which proves that we are the laziest team in the AFL is just a number too.

The shrinking number of weeks until Pyke gets sacked because he’s lost the players is also just a number.

I'd like to know myself, if I knew I'd probably be the coach.

Teams are targeting our midfield no doubt, but they scored 76 points from our forward 50. We won clearances convincingly but we couldn't hold the ball in there.

That's the game.
Essendon, like Port, Geelong, West Coast realised that we were throwing numbers into contests and getting sucked in, so they let us and positioned for easy transition on the outside.

But in the 3rd quarter when it turned south we had just 5 x I50’s.

That’s not a failure to hold it in, it’s not even getting there.

But you know... A grade midfielders

You would be nuts to bring in a 1st gamer 18 year old in a game we have to win when Ottens has good form, the only issue I see is it's at a big ground but he will be playing that Doedee/Keath role (unless Carlton try to expose him 1-1 deep).

We are playing the 3rd to bottom side, (aswell as the GC game) these are the games other clubs do in fact blood new players.

So if we don't bring in a first gamer v GC or 3rd to bottom when do you suggest we bring them in? Oh thats right v Geelong at Kardinia Park, silly me.

"Campo pleaded with me not to tag Cripps and he's our strategy coach so I followed his strong, experienced advice"

*a few days later*

P. Cripps - 47 touches, 32 clearances, 20 inside 50s, 7 goals

*a few days later*
"We didn't make a mistake, our guys just didn't get the job done. But they are experienced guys so I'll back them in to respond next week"

Did he really use Roger Federer as an example?

fu** me.

It's quite common in other sports like tennis for players to succeed well into their mid 30s. But the crucial fact is this isn't the case for AFL.

Those are the facts you need to be dealing with Pyke, you baboon
Steve Davis still plays some pretty good snooker at 61.

Agree on the GC game but this Carlton game is way too important, against Geelong it was because Lynch was injured and not managed that allowed Davis to get a game.

"We had a plan to stop Cripps, and that plan was for our midfielders to win the ball first and give us first use. Unfortunately, the players didn't stick to our proven structures or gameplan, which allowed Cripps to dominate the midfield"

And we still won by 104pts, proving Campo to be correct...

You conveniently leave that little fact out, when quoting Cripps' figures.

We had a plan to beat Carlton, which succeeded brilliantly - to the tune of 104pts.

That was last time. I'm joking about what will happen this week.

If Cripps has 32 clearances and 7 goals we will get smashed
