Had a peek on he Saints board. Geez over there they think since they are sitting top that this one should be an easy game for them. Hello you have beaten 3 sides inc GC by under a kick and beat a hopeless Melbourne. You are not that good. I expect to win and win well.

Don’t completely disagree with you about the saints, however I’m not convinced we have turned a corner. We won a game we should have won no problem, but can easily see us falling into the same trap as prebious weeks. Happened too many times before

If he doesn’t perform this year he’ll be an anchor not an asset at the trade table

When JJ got his rib injury early against the Hawks at the G in 2017 we scored more points with 21 players than our average with JJ and the full rotations prior. While out, we averaged more points without JJ than with. It’s a small sample, but it’s the only sample. He’s a recipient of everyone else’s performance not a creator of our performance. He was a fair bit different last year, but he’s regressed to being an even poorer version of his usual downhill skiing type this year. Lynch not far behind as a pure downhill skier, and that’s where Sanders and I disagree vehemently.

Why would Jenkins consider doing that unless we heavily front loaded him?

He'd be smart enough to know his career is done at the end of this contract, why would you bother when you have guaranteed money in the reserves?

There's ways and means of getting a player out. Ask Jack Watts. Most players don't want to finish their careers in the reserves. Generally there is trigger clauses and media opportunities by playing afl. I have a feeling he was front loaded and it may be a win win end of year to trade him.

Of course, there is always a way. It just gets harder the worse a contract is, and the closer to the end a player is. Especially with someone who already has all the media opportunities he needs, and is contracted.

The best we may be able to do is just pay him out of the rest of his contract, though that is firmly in uncharted waters.

Agree. Reseving judgement until after round 8. If we are 4 4 at this point it will be not too bad. Injury is starting to hurt especially to our backline. We should get brown, seedsman, milera back in 5 to 6. I feel Don is gonna have to start injecting some youth into the team regardless of results. We are an aging team and the quicker we get games into kids the better they can get up to speed for next years assault.

I don't think it will come to that. I think we will only have to pay 150-200k tops. Swans would be a good destination for Josh. Need another big forward after tippett retirement. Can do his Nfl work up there. Pick in the 30's would be a good result. Could possibly combine that with Carlton's 2nd which should be around pick 20 for a pick upgrade. That alongside pick 1 to 3 would be a better result. It would then possibly give us more currency to trade in a key player such as a grundy or rankine as well.

Upon reflection swans probably won't go for him. Melbourne could be a fit. Stuffed without Hogan. Maybe they are delusional and still think they are in the premiership window. Likely paying out the contract may be the end result. Hopefully was majorly front ended first 3 years.

JJ is so used to being on the end of our fast ball movement, he actually has no idea how to impact a match without that type of ball movement.

Lynch is an interesting one. He also needs our game plan to work otherwise he’s almost non effective. He’s slow, and not a great athlete in terms of jumping and overall lateral movements. Would really like to see a mid size athletic and quick forward in this position to see how much of a difference it would make.
