In: Mundy, Ibbotson, DeBoer, Hughes, Blakely

Out: Fyfe, Johnson, Ballantyne, Sutcliffe, Griff/Zac (Zac has been worse but is younger so may get a reprieve).

Would prefer Langdon over De Boer but we should reward his WAFL form and would make us very inexperienced otherwise.

Reality is Ross doesn't usually make more than about 2 changes in any one week, last week's three was an anomaly rather than the norm. So this week we know we have two forced changes (Fyfe, Johnson), possibly a 3rd in Ballas, and maybe a 4th in Walters if he gets done for the hit that Karl Langdon kept banging on about. There's no way he'll make any more changes IMO.

AND he won't bring in all young guys either, no way does he throw them to the wolves without some bigger experienced bodies around to protect them. Yes we'll still get our arses handed to us, but at least they won't get smashed from pillar to post.

So, assuming Mundy is ready to come back in, I think it will look something like this:

Out: Fyfe, Johnson, Ballantyne, Walters
In: Mundy, Ibbotson, Silvagni, deBoer

B: Spurr Dawson Ibbotson
HB: Sheridan PearceA Sutcliffe
C: PearceD de Boer Hill
HF: Grey Mayne Weller
F: Taberner Pavlich Crozier

R: Griffin Mundy Neale

I/C: Clarke Barlow Tucker Silvagni

Ugh...

That'll be a similar side we put out to face the bombers with. The bombers will really fancy themselves to take home the four points.

I'm very confused. Why are people suggesting dropping Tucker after just one game? Surely at this stage we keep young blokes in for 3 or 4 games to give them a chance to show what they've got.

Especially as he showed that it wasn't out of his depth. Just staggeringly mind boggling really.

I've also seen suggestions of Suttcliffe being dropped. Almost equally stupid.

We are all raw as new borns at the minute. Really, really gentle banter is about all we could stand.:(
We'll be gentle. :)

Bad luck about Fyfe... just hope he can get the leg right. Nobody likes to see a champion out of the game. Understand why Ross said he wouldn't play the kids... but when is the right time? If you are in a rebuild, isn't sooner better than later? Hang in there guys.

I'm thinking one of the concerns is not just the physical side but the mental scarring that getting belted week in and week out can do. The Melbourne experience springs to mind.

I think with your current form the best we can do is flood it to minimise your score a bit ugly better that something 130- 18.

Yes, I heard Ross say that, and I do get it... but are you ever going to be able to protect them really? It's going to happen sometime (they have to be exposed eventually).

Might be a good test of character as well. Fyfe, Hill and a few others went through some horrible years and survived. We probably need to see who out of our older group needs to get the chop as well, so we do still have to play them at some stage. Maybe a bit of a balance, we should treat it as the longest preseason ever!

Ross was saying that part of the development process for younger players is to learn off the older and more experienced players, which is why you can't just play the kids for the rest of the year.

They said on 882 last night that Pav will simply act as a forward playing coach from now on as even Lyon has admitted that the season is shot.

It's not a great way for Pav to end his career, however he did agree to play on for one more year so he may as well just do what he can to teach Taberner and Apeness whilst he is still there.

Imparting knowledge is still legacy leaving, I reckon. Who better for those forwards to be learning off? People may think it's a wasted year for Pav but I don't think so at all.

Your ins are far too old IP.

Alex Silvagni is 29 this year, surely we go with Collins instead?

And I'd like to see Ibbotson play another week in the WAFL and Connor Blakely get a run.

As I said, I don't agree with what I wrote, I just think that's what we'll get.

Ross is unlikely to throw the young kids to the wolves. Adelaide have three quality, experienced tall forwards, and in Walker an absolute A-grade match winner. If Collins comes in (and believe me, if you've been listening to Talking Dockers you'd know I'm well and truly on the Connors bandwagon!), then we'd have a debutante, a guy with less than 20 games, and Dawson minding their three big men. I believe he will go with experience over youth on this occasion.

Changes for the crows :
It's time to look to the future and start to look at more young blood. Premiership window closed for now

Out : fyfe (injured)
Johnson (injured)
Dawson ( gives away too many free kicks and can't kick the footy)
Ballantyne ( knocked around needs a week off)
Clarke back to peel to gain form
Sutcliffe

Ins: Blakely for fyfe
Hughes for Johnson
Collins for Dawson
Langdon for Ballantyne
Mundy for sutcliffe
Morabito/smith for Clarke

How I would like to see the side

Spurr Collins Tucker

Hughes A. Pearce Hill

Weller mundy. Sheridan

Morabito/smith tabs. Mayne

Crozier pav. Walters

Ruck:
Griffin
Neale
Barlow

D. Pearce
Grey
Langdon
Blakely

We aren't going to win over there, especially with the way they are playing so we should give guys like Blakely, Hughes, Langdon(shouldn't have been dropped) the opportunity to show what they can do. We did it with Grey and he really delivered. The season is well and truly over after a 0-5 start so lets see what the youth can do. We need to start building for the future now. Also bring back the skip if he is fit

With Johnson getting injured, does that mean Sheridan/Sutcliff will play more of a shutdown role?

Are people thinking Collins or Silvagni to replace Johnson? Sorry but I much prefer Hughes. He's almost as tall as Silvagni but is so much more attacking.

I also think we need to bring Ibbo back in for his intercept marking.

Spurr Dawson Ibbotson
Hughes APearce Tucker

I agree that Ibbo has to come back in. We need some experience down back. I think we need to settle on a backline structure, whether 2 or 3 talls etc, and stick with it for a few weeks to try and build some cohesion.

Based on strategies let Hughes and Tucker spend one week in WAfL without travel and play GWS later. Especially Hughes just back from injuries not good if he reinjured.

Would rather be playing a red hot Freo! Big soft spot and so wished they had snagged one in the last few years!
We are very hot all our last season good player is back, C.Pearce, suban ,deboer and gu to face you.

Mundy for Fyfe (inj)
Ibbo for Johnno (inj)
Langdon for Ballas (inj)
Blakely for D Pearce (omitted)
Hughes for Sutty (omitted)
Collins for Tabs (omitted) *Collins backline, swing A Pearce up fwd
