Im off the opinion that the club has played there role in the demise of Jones and Fish

We played both players before they were ready and with Jones we played him in numerous roles, none of them his preferred role that he played in his junior footy

You can't force a player to be a good player. They either are or they aren't. Half back is last chance saloon for Chayce.

Jones has wrecked himself. He is simply not good enough.

If he had capped out into a good to very good SANFL player, then yes, it's on Jones. That said, Jones has regressed, likely to the point he's a worse player today then he was in U18s.

This one is on how the club develops players so far. We know it too, seeing our determination to not give up on Chayce, and trying him elsewhere.

We spent most of the time playing Jones as an inside mid. Jones made his name as an inside mid in the U18s (to the point he was named a U18 AA).

We've wrecked Jones, but I doubt it is from using him before it's ready.

McAsey is just a 2nd year key back. It's pretty rare they come in an do well, unless they're playing loose.
Give McAsey the Lever role and he’ll look like a star like Lever did. Give him an accountable role and he may struggle as Lever still does. Difference is I think McAsey will grow into being a proper defender.

Sounded promising. I'm yet to watch it but hopefully we can reinvent Jones into a useful piece.

I do agree though. Don't even consider it until round 12-14 unless he starts putting together big games regularly before hand. It is important we get something from that pick, and we are afforded a fair bit of time for Chayce to work things out.
We need quality mids. We recruited him as a quality mid. We have half backs. There’s got to be something wrong in our development.

Yeah I don't subscribe to the wrecked philosophy as well. You either take your opportunity or you don't. He isn't a natural footballer. Hopefully he makes it at half back but we wrecked that superdraft while powaa killed it.

Hamill seems to have a low pain threshold - looks like he’s been shot at some point in most games only to recover and keep playing.

Those ankles seem to be made of glass.

Odd for someone that grew up playing ice hockey.

Sorry but I don't agree with that. Quality players will find a way to impress no matter who inept their club development may be. Even if their own club doesn't notice it others will. Jones's pathetic 5 disposals the other week was all on him and only he can change it.

Geezus mate do you really need to take the contrary view on everything....They have all the GPS numbers and individual player workloads at their finger tips and no doubt the reports from the medicos and physios on how the players pulled up after the weekend to guide them.

And we all know how above criticism our medical department deserves to be

I feel like Fog and Jones are suffering a similar issue. Both seem to have lost that instinct to be the problem for the opposition, they seem so intent on their opponent. When we setup for a bounce, our guys seem to go their mids - very rarely the other way around.
Yep. It is becoming a real problem for our mids. And then you have McAdam constantly playing behind.
Is it a confidence thing? Coaching?

If GWS were smart they would name, minimum, 4 tall forwards. If we name a 2nd KPD they should drop one as a late change.

4 tall forwards and 2 rucks would be even more killer for us
I wonder how we'll have viewed the Hawks' talls getting hold of us last week?

Would we look at it and say our line up is too small against certain teams? Bring in another tall this week.

Or would we look at it and say we needed better team defence, third man coming over the top to help out, not leaving our defenders exposed one out?

Given Hamill got subbed out & current footage shows him hobbling on 1 leg, that's rather harsh.

I suspect he has been carrying an injury & we have continued playing him, rather than giving someone like Worrell a go... & now it's caught up with us.

Thithorpe grew up playing Ice Hockey like his Dad... wasn't aware Hamill also did?

If we do name a 2nd KPD this week it'll be interesting who we go with - McAsey, Worrell or Murray.

Even though the real danger is Greene and all we have for him is Kelly.
I would bring in Worrell for Hamill & a tall, as then we have a a few who can pick up any 3rd or 4th tall forward.

Now watch Hogan kick 4-5 goals against us, our defence is a real worry, apart from Butts who can you lock down as a tall shutdown defender for us? It's a real concern and I don't even include Talia in our KPD stocks as he'll retire soon.
