Sutcliffe was fine against richmond. He’ll be fine this week too

I don't agree that he was 'fine', but for argument's sake let's say he was. Why are we playing a 28 year old with 111 games experience ahead of an in form young player like Woodcock against a bottom 4 side if the best he can offer is 'he'll be fine?'

What's the bet that 'TBC' is Lycett and they're holding that information back to delay the melts before they reveal that Ken has decided to play a side with literally zero ruckmen in it because he had to make room for Sutcliffe.
Motlop is the 'TBC'
Now confirmed.

Besides the fact woodcock was doing quite well as a forward how about if you wanted to play a forward having a look at one of Bergman, Williams or mead against a weak swans outfit before we get to finals? Of course if we get to finals the argument will be we can’t blood a youngster in them so will have to pick Sutcliffe. Boxxing ourselves into a nice corner.

playing woodcock, Sutcliffe or Bergman would have next to no say on the outcome of the swans game. If we lose to them it would be because of a massive failure in the midfield.

they were obvious calls. Who in their right mind wouldn’t have brought in those players if they were fit?

I think people have a right to be confused by hinkleys selection policy. There is definitely gaps in the logic. He’s shuffling deck chairs.

I dont think he is. I think his selection policy is clear. Hes taking minimal risk

This would be Ken Hinkley's equivalent of the glass shattering at the beginning of Stone Cold Steve Austin's theme music. He's back, baby!

Yeah, I think we've been pretty consistent this year at selection. Same structure week to week, pick experience and reliability over potential. It's a fair enough approach given we're top of the ladder and there are no proper reserves games being played.

He might be being rested

Agree. There's zero point in blooding Mead, Bergmen, Wiliams now..... or ****ing Jack Watts for that matter. They will not be part of the finals tilt this year. We have a top 2/4 spot to sew up and hopefully a premiership to win. It is not a time for experimentation. I'm not sure why people aren't getting this?

Sutcliffe is an upgrade on Motlop. Come at me.
He does a more dependable job on the HFF than Motlop, but SFA vs 1.5 x SFA doesn't inspire me.

Today’s selection proves we have a squad of 30 for finals and these are the guys we want to get games into in the last 4 games. No time for blooding youngsters. Apart from the 22 selected, we have:

Georgiades F
Farrell F
Woodcock F
Motlop F/M
Ladhams R
Houston M/D
Mayes D
Lienert D

While we all would like to play with our new toys, it is great to see that Ken has pushed all the chips into the middle of the table. This is not about building for 2021, it’s about winning 2020.

People like shiny new things.

We haven't been without debutants this year though, Woodcock and Georgi got a few games.

If Woodcock was going to be out, the time was to select a Bergman/Williams, or at least not someone who is Mr Joe Average Vanilla whose best we have seen. Playing the Swans, who are very poor is the PERFECT game to blood one of these guys.

Why did they even bother with the TBC. The fu** was that

2 possible scenarios:

1) Someone is borderline injured and they were undergoing a fitness test and the 24 hour news cycle waits for no fitness test

b) Mots forgot to charge his phone so they couldn't ring him to tell him and they didn't want it on twitter before he was told.

Williams is Injured with a groin. And Bergman appears to have been converted to a back for this season to learn his defensive craft at least so neither of these was going to come in for woodcock. Only one who might have been a shout over Sutcliff was Cox who isn’t as good defensively as cam.

I get everything Hinkley does cops criticism, but not even Malcolm Blight on Acid throws in first year players in a month from finals whilst sitting atop of the ladder with a comparatively small injury list.
