Changes Round 13 vs Hawthorn

I would expect Treloar to be the one to make way if they go with Weightman. 1) Treloar might be in need of a rest anyway. 2) Think it might be difficult to manage two guys on restricted minutes

Bramble is probably the other option. Started on fire for the first few rounds but hasn't been good since. He's sort of made a habit of having pretty ordinary first halves of the year and then having respectable second halves of the season. Don't think he has ever been left out of Bevos side and can't see it happening here either but he shouldn't be in on form

Think you need to play someone on Gunston than can match him for speed. Buku is the quickest of the defenders who play as a tall
However, he just does not have the smarts to play on him as proven recently.

Left field, I would go with our last game hero Sellwood. Ok, you run the risk of him being beaten overhead but Gunston gets most his goals on the lead. This is why he should be first choice and see if he is our modern day Dale Morris.

If Buss is fit he must play to assist with Gungston , Lewis and Chol

I would also keep Croft in.

If Weightman plays then Bramble out and Buss plays then on of Jacques/Coffield/Treloar ( would be more structual than form )

Tough week for selection.

Agree I think we need Buss back in, really not sure who for. Leaning Buku as I don't love the matchups for him, but I doubt the Match committee will go that way. I would give Treloar a week off, back to back 6 day breaks and the calves and old man body still needs to be managed, so play it safe with him and bring him back in fresh for the Crows game.

In - Buss, Weightman
Out - Buku, Treloar

Emg - May, Buku, Kennedy

Id add in Kennedy for Bramble as well

Pressure for spots is starting to ramp up which is great. Libba will probably be ready for the Crows game, Cody you think this week, Buss IMO is best 23 and Caleb May looked really good in the VFL and could get a look in over the next few weeks if needed. Then Kennedy and Carmichael starting to push for a debut and then Gags, Davidson and Baker unable to get a look in as players we were relying on earlier in the year.

Id add in Kennedy for Bramble as well
I think they might be weary of going in too young, especially against the Hawks. Bevo loves what Bramble brings, so unless it was for a Croft or Hynes etc I don't think Kennedy will debit yet, but he's close!

I think it in: Buss, Cody out: Treloar (rest), Coffield (matchup)

I’ve liked Coff but I think Buku is better than him. Buss would go to Lewis, JOD to Gunston and Buku to Chol.

Then in the future for other matchups I’d happily switch Coff back in.

Think Treloar is the right out for Cody as we have a lot of height so can’t afford to drop dudes tasked with running a lot, even if they’re not doing much else. By these people I mean Bramble

No idea who comes out for Cody.

The three most likely all played well - McNeil, Hynes and Croft.
Am I the only one who thinks Cody for McNeil is never harsh no matter how many McNeil kicks the week prior.

Nothing against McNeil, played a quality game but him and Weightman are a known quantity.

In the small forward pecking order McNeil is always behind West, Weightman and Arty.

Hopefully Dolan pushes ahead of him as well. That’s the kind of depth we need.

Out: Hynes, Treloar
In: Weightman, Busslinger

I’d keep Budarick on Watson, West a defensive role on Sicily and have Kennedy go with Newcombe all game.

****ing anyone on Newcombe all game.

I watched Bevo’s presser and his comment about Busslinger was essentially that he’d come in if the opposition necessitated it. Then he noted that the Hawks are quite dynamic up forward. Can’t read too much into it, by I inferred from it we might favour a more mobile defence this week.

I’d bet anything Hynes stays in. He’s playing the defensive role that is being asked of him and Bev keeps singling him out for praise in his pressers.

Agree that we really need to do something tighter on Newcombe. I posted after the last game that he’s had 9 or 10 coaches votes in about 5 of the last 6 games against us. It’s diabolical.

Agree Mennedy is probably our best bet to go with Newcombe, hasn't been in great form this year but has the strength/tank for it and keeps Bont, Ed and Sanders free.

Fantastic we finally have the hard task of dropping guys who don’t necessarily deserve it.
I imagine just the 2 changes but agree with everyone Lennedy is close.

In: Weightman, Buss
Out: Treloar, Coffield/Khamis

What sort of fixture is this? Hawthorn again? Plus Adelaide again and the Swans (away) again in the next month? Someone is having a laugh.

welcome to the AFL orchestrated, manufactured, manipulated and self serving league.

I would understand the haste to get Weightman straight into the AFL team if he could fill an obvious hole.

I would think, though, that he could really only be asked to play as a deep smaller forward, where West and Jones are going nicely.

Seems far more sensible to give him a week in the VFL and rebuild his confidence under match conditions.

West has done his best work around the arc this season, he has seemed to struggle close to goal atleast to my eye. Jones also has looked exciting roling upto the wings and creating scoring chains.

All we'd be doing is kicking the can down the road for a week. Only for it to arrive back in exactly the same spot.

If he's deemed fit to play and he has confidence in his body. Then I see no purpose in playing him at VFL level for a week. Especially given the sub-par nature of that league.

Sanders could be the best option, but taking him away from what’s currently working would be stupid…..but peak Bevo, too

Kennedy would actually be able to stick a tackle, so that’s why I hope it happens

Fair shout, he was decent last night compared to previous, but he’s still the weakest link in the forward half - if we do bring Cody straight back in. It’s otherwise McNeil, but he’d be stiff after last night
