We need to do something about clearances, what that looks like I’m not sure - it’s not a personnel thing. Changes in defence and forward line are just playing around the edges if we can’t fix clearance.

Agree. But there needs to be some run. Walker is a need. Banfield can do half back/wing if Wagner is midfield.

Wagner has been fantastic in midfield, but i think we have sorely missed his run off half back especially with Simpson going down. We almost need 2 wagners, would have never thought i would be saying that....

People calling for Amiss out is absoloutly fair, but some of the people in here are hating on him as if he wants to miss his shots. Call for him to be dropped but we are supporters not haters.

Also im glad people seem to agree with me now on Jaeger in for Erasmus. Copped a bit for it in the selection thread.

Can see why Fyfe was pushed to come in.
JOM needs to just do his defensive stuff, nullify the opposition and get his handballs out.

Honestly need to just break even with clearances and can win the battles.

The defence can get back to their best by having the ball forward and step up accordingly. 5.2 from centre clearances is just unacceptable for the midfield

I’m a believer in Amiss still long term as a high quality AFL forward, albeit beginning to waver slightly compared to a year ago. Still hopeful he can come good though.

However leaving him in that team now is detrimental to the guy in the long run in my view.

If he has many more games like that today he will be mentally scarred so badly it will affect his full career.
He looked distraught after those two missed set shots in the last.

Back to peel, kick a couple of bags, start feeling good about himself again. That is absolutely the right call here

3 weeks of 2 rucks and the oppo ruck has been best on or close enough twice , we’ve lost the clearance’s each time and we’ve looked brittle as **** on transition

Well the alternative is play one ruck, but then it’ll be the ruck who gets completely dominated when he’s in there unless it’s against a teenager.

The issue goes back to Jackson still not being able to match it against the big boys.

I mean, if expectations for amiss have declined to the point that we are now hoping he reaches Joel Amarteys level…. Then things aren’t looking too flash.

I kind of agree, hitouts are the most overrated stat in the game. We won hitouts last week comfortably and lost clearances. We were poor in the clearances yesterday regardless of which ruckman was in there.

I think we’re too tall and lack run and pressure, particularly out of our attacking 50. If you want to stick with both rucks, then lose a tall forward.

Yes I have, but I'm also aware that our gamestyle suits him. Gun players don't stay down forever, they eventually find form again. His ability to go forward and get a miss match can also cause headaches.

I think he was better this week. I think he groin was very sore, but after surgery he may be ok
