25, 1 goal and 5 clearances
Look at what Tom Green didn't do in the contest.
His equal lowest clearances this year and his only sub-11 CPs game this year.

Honestly, the better response is that it wasn't just down to Ras, Johnno did his bit too. Considering so much of what we do revolves around clearance and contest, blunting the impact of maybe the best contest mid in the game is a pretty big deal.

No back up?

Draper?

We brought in Mcdonald?

We have drafted 2 key backmen with second rounders in the last few years.

We have back up. Whether they are good enough or not is uo for debate but coming at the club for this is ignorant imo
Really though? Draper is a NGA pick. McDonald is a delisted free agent

It hasn’t been a priority. Unfortunately Fremantle can’t have players in the state league waiting to have a chance, as Victorian clubs are always pouncing.

I think Boomer93's post was fair. Pearce himself was an end of 2nd round pick and we've invested similar draft capital into Davies and Ollie Murphy, not to mention a 1st round pick into Logue.

Not sure how much more of a priority clubs usually put on key defenders unless it's the rare cases like Weitering.

And I'm not following your logic that you expected the club to have a quality back up while also conceding we can't have quality sitting in the state league without them being poached.

Wasn’t a priority bc up until 2022 we had Logue, Hamling and Cox. Two of those guys were 24. And the years before we had even more. Probably thought we were set for a few more years longer. It’s not like we had the draft picks to get a ready made KPD in the draft and not feasible getting one in trade with how much they are.

We got a KPD with our first pick in 2022, and our second pick in 2023. Recruited a solid VFL defender in OMac. Draper in the NGA too. Couldn’t have really done much more with our hand. Unless you wanted us to trade away for a first rounder to get the best KPD in the draft?

The players vote for the captain at Freo. If the players want him as captain they'll vote him in again. Brayshaw and Serong are both more than capable of stepping in for the games that he's injured.

It's why the commentary on whether Freo should "appoint" Brayshaw or Serong as captain is silly. It's up to the playing group
I stand by my comment. His legs are like seagulls and has always had issues with them whether he has played most games or not it’s an ongoing issue. Brayshaw or serong are the true leaders of the club. Whether the players see that or not lol

The worst part about Freo losing is the loss itself.

The 2nd worst part about Freo losing is Brodie suddenly becomes a superstar. Hasn't played for over 2 years, not even a crumb of interest from other clubs, and these days only plays well against bad WAFL teams. Absence truly makes the heart grow fonder it seems.

We played finals with Brodie in 2022 and since then our midfield has often been bullied by bigger midfields so I understand the criticism. It's also understandable that he just goes through the motions at Peel now after being locked in the basement for over 2 years. It would be deflating.

At seasons end they should really pay Brodie out and delist him. If he can't get a run with Young, O'Driscoll, Fyfe, O'Meara all injured he'll never be picked so it's a waste of a list spot.

Brodie stopped being as effective in the second half of 2022 as teams figured him out, I don't know why he's such a saviour figure.
Losing Mundy after 2022 made a big difference to our midfield.

Tonight at half time, we're gonna honour a player who also could've found being dropped to the WAFL deflating and go through the motions. He ended his career as a top 6 Docker of all time.

It'd be one thing if there was loads of oppo interest in him. Nothing could be further from the truth. It's a Brodie problem.

Freo basically never pay players out. To your point, he's a waste to keep around right now. But especially if we lose Ras, probably not worth paying Brodie out. He's the type I can see suddenly training the house down in a contract year.

The club gave him a long deal in March 2023 which makes it even more of a head scratcher.

By giving him a long deal then not picking him when O'Meara, Young, O'driscoll and Fyfe were all injured is a waste of 400k and a list spot.

There's guys like Mitch Crowden and Brady Grey that I thought could be handy role players but were delisted which is fine. But signing a bloke then never picking him when your midfield is under sized is bizarre.

He had 11 touches in a game where we lost it in the midfield. He’s just had a nice run of games, none of them were above a 5/10. He’s not hard done by. He’s just not good. And we’re not in a spot where we can keep gifting people games for development. At the end of the day he’s still worse than Johnson
Raz is going to make alot of Freo supporters spew when he’s running around for Methcoast next year racking up 30+ game.

Lacks pace, slow decision maker, poor skills.

If he goes to WC it's quite possible that he'll play every week because their list is so poor but we won't miss him IMO.

Guys like Weller, Cerra, Logue have left with much more ability than Erasmus and we haven't missed them.

I'd take a 3rd rounder in a heart beat.

Hey now, don’t worry about tactics. Everyone says we “must win” therefore we win!

Even though we’re unbalanced, way too tall, scared of the bright lights, and tactically poor. We need to win this so it’ll just happen apparently.
we live in hope.
