Walker should stay in just for that run down tackle he did. All of our defenders were below average. Actually think that was the worst game Luke Ryan has ever played.

Walker's kick across to Ryan that was intercepted by Close was a direct goal that he gave up.

They also got direct goals from Jackson and Cox getting adjudged caught holding the ball. There was a goal from a kick-in and a goal from a 50m penatly. There was a goal from lax marking in the goalsquare that Dempsey kicked out of midair where Worner should have been more vigilant and that was from kick that came in from a deliberate paid against Cox who seemed to just tap the ball away from Stengles hand to get pinged.

There's 6 examples without going through the match where we contributed to their blowout margin. And then there's opportunities missed like the shots Treacy had on goal. We've got to work on this stuff before dropping a heap of players.

It’s a poor reflection on the way the team is structured and coached if we can’t be at least competitive without a few of our best 22.
This is the biggest concern for me, no way we should get blown away like that in the first game of the year.
Massive red flag on team structure and ability to bounce to change when forced.

This is hilarious after what we saw from the midfield today. Where’s the last full game he even played.
If Erasmus plays the game JOM played today he’d be getting smashed, (plenty of touches but missed targets and no hurt factor).

A 2 way running machine with big body would not have gone astray today

O'Meara's game yesterday was better than any of the 23 games Erasmus has played at AFL level.

Erasmus looked out of his depth in pre-season games where everyone is in 3rd gear.

I know their has been plenty of comments about Erasmus , Brodie not showing enough.

But what is their mindset like and what are they being told after they watch us replace Young and Fyfe with Worner, Banfield.
So we can push O’Driscoll on ball and lose the impact he had as a wing and occasional midfield burst player.

Saw this last year with Darcy out. Just replace the missing player with the same type of player who is currently not playing or if you move someone from their current position it’s because you are not getting value out of them in their current position- which is usually a move during the match.

Tell an opposition fan that and they’d happily take him off us.

Of rest of the depth players that played yesterday (Banfield, Worner and Reidy), only Banfield is in the top 30 players on our list in my book and there lies a part of the problem. Match Committee are making some terrible decisions.

Does Pearce really have a say in team selection as was posted yesterday after the game in reference to the selection of Worner?

Doesn't make sense because sometimes you might have to drop a captain for form reasons, or rule against him if he considers he can play through injury, and then he'd have to vote for or against himself.

I've only ever heard it in relation to cricket where a captain might have input in selection of a touring squad, and that maybe was just "back in the day".

It works out perfect, 8 days to recover from our first away game then the players sleep in their own bed for almost a month. The next time they board a plane will be April 11th. Then there's the post season bye to recover for finals if we're good enough.

Can't complain about our draw this year, especially after the p1ss weak effort yesterday.

I wonder if Champion Data have stats on players whose turnovers/clangers most often lead to goals? If they did, I would think Walker is right up there. If I am JL, I am dropping Walker. JL can't afford to have favourites if he wants to survive the year.

If JLo didn't play his favourites every week Brodie would have played with Fyfe and Young out. Brodie wasn't even in the 26 that played against Melbourne a fortnight ago.

Can't believe I'm saying this but dropping Amiss needs to be considered.

He's had six shots in the last four games, had a terrible pre-season and is ultimately the easiest blanketed forward in the competition. Cox forward has clearly been considered and he managed to at least take a contested mark in the forward line. Pearce, Cox, Draper & Chapman are all competent/good tall defenders, but Chapman & Cox are probably the only two with scope to play in a different position.

Amiss just can't beat good defenders, a run in the WAFL might help his confidence & body.

Worner just simply can't be in our best 35 players surely.

I don't know how much Bailey Banfield I've got left in me, he's the biggest momentum killer in our team. The selection committee still believe he's about to put it all together at 27 years of age.

I thought Walker defended really well but christ his disposal under pressure.

I mean doubt Geelong had to do much to contain reidy so they could blanket amiss easily

Brodie has no two way running. He plays about 55-60% total game time. Also disposal by foot is terrible. He is not the answer. They showed what they can do in the third quarter vs Geelong and second quarter vs Melbourne. Need more of it and less of the 2nd/4th quarters vs Geelong and 3rd quarter vs Melbourne.

Can stomach Brodie as a sub but his card has been marked.

For mine one of the biggest missing pieces is Sean Darcy. I dont have a lot of confidence in Reidy. He wasn’t even Rucked in the middle as much as I thought. If he is just a chop out ruckman that will spend time up forward then Voss is much preferred until Darcy is up and running.

I think you've dropped Ryan but not indicated he's an OUT, and listed Worner as an OUT but kept him on the bench.

Fyfe isn’t ready yet so won’t be considered. Wagner is one guy who needs to stay. At least he creates speed off HB. Have no idea how worner got a game. Sure he’s a handy foot soldier but he’s nothing more than depth in my eyes, especially when Chapman doesn’t start. JLs game of favourites adds to his arrogance. How Brodie doesn’t get a go still, when all other big bodies are out is pathetic.

Not sure what you’re talking about saying Neale was smashing Pearce early. Before the last quarter Neale had one shot on goal for one point and five disposals in total. Up until then thought Pearce played ok. Neale only had [emoji638] shots on goal all day

Of those 23 games, 14 have been as sub or subbed off if my googling is correct. So 9 full games. He’s never been given a run at it. Not sure pre season games mean much.

Worner sucks, even as a defender. He’s one dimensional. Would’ve thought by now Chapman was a winger or half back.

If we actually selected some midfielders to replace the three we lost, then you could play NOD on the wing where he is best suited. Novel idea I know but Freo dont seem to do obvious.
