Think we need some bigger bodies and harder workers - agree with those suggesting Wags in for Young and Fyfe sub.

The Walker conundrum is interesting - the backs were (as a rule) exceptional today, but the lack of collective pressure on their forwards was frustrating early. Think we're going to need his defensive nous (particularly for Brisbane and the Dogs) but it feels very rough dropping Worner or Banners ATM.

Pearce comes in when he's good to go - OMac absolutely fine.

I know he'll be stiff to miss, but Banfield out for Simpson? Ball movement and speed is king in modern footy and Simpson is an upgrade on both.

Wagner in for Young and hopefully Pearce back if he's fit. Omac's been serviceable but he's no Moose

O’Meara hasn’t really captured his pre-injury form. I doubt he will get dropped given his veteran presence, but he really does need to lift. Would love to see Wagner straight back.
Admittedly he’s need with his big body and protection for the midfield. Good lord the team need those.

If Walker is fit and still can’t come in.
Just feel like Walker is needed the closer finals are.

7 wins from 8 games with Omac

Only game lost in this period ironically was when Moose played

As much as I like the potential in Simpson, don't see any sense in bringing him in at all for any part of the season unless we lose troops badly. The players we have in line have been vital on this winning run and unfortunately he just doesn't have the experience at all yet imo, he's still fresh in his new role let alone the AFL and impending finals...

I’d be considering:
Simpson in for Banfield
Wagner for young
Ras stays sub

Fyfe can have another run at Peel until he can run a full game out, no need to risk him against port.
Same too for Pearce, leave Omac in this week
I like all you say but Banners was great this week - hard to drop him. I know he has weaknesses but he is a genuine utility.
Has NODdy been doing enough? Just asking the question really.

The answer is no, but Sharp isn’t knocking the door down. Funny cos Emma keeps alluding to him not playing good enough footy on the pod.

Nope, I’m not a huge fan of NOD. I like his effort and his big frame but he definitely has some limitation by foot.
Unless Wagner plays wing, we’ve got nothing much better in the sheds tho

Save Pearce for Brisbane, Port's FWD line isn't the tallest tbh. Just my two cents.
It's not so much a match up requirement but getting him match fitness and a chance to shake off the inevitable rust. the longer he's out the harder it'll be for him to re-acclimate.

Yep. This week seemed to be the extra week of non- match conditioning.

I’m expecting him to play this weekend.

Honestly, I feel that Clark's upped his game that he's overtaken Walker as our best shutdown small defender. Alongside Warner's improvement, Chapman staying on the park - there's not a spot yet for Walker, which is wild.

Simpson however address a need - Speed, Footskills and Decision making from Halfback. Especially for when Clark gets heavy attention.

Missing Johnson a bit with his defensive work and hopefully NOD finds some form soon.

Anyone else worried that Baeshaw will go for his shin on Saad? Looked a bit nasty? AFL loves to shitcan us at the most inopportune moments.
