Not worried at all about this game nor next week,

Disco Turner vs Aaron Naughton and Tom McDonald vs Sam Darcy

All we have to do is break even in the midfield and we will win fairly easily

2025
Long breaks:
1st game: Beat Norf by 16
9 day break to Dockers: Lost by 16
14 day break to Hawks: Lost by 22
10 day break to Tigers: Won by 79
9 day break to Crows: Lost by 11
10 day break to Dees: ???

Short breaks:
5 day break to Cats: lost by 14 (one we let slip with 6 more shots)
5 day break to Swans: Won by 9

2024
Long breaks:
Rd1: Lost to the Dees by 45
9 day break to Dockers: Lost by 24
14 day break to Norf: Won by 17
9 day break to Crows: Lost by 39
12 day break to Hawks: Lost by 37

Short breaks:
5 day break to Swans: Lost by 14 (decent result given where the Swans were at that time)
5 day break to Dees: Won by 51

To me it’s seemed that we’ve struggled with longer breaks rather than shorter breaks. Maybe it’s just in my head and a combination of who we play, although it did seem to be something at least last year.

Beware of Dees. Danger game.
If we lose this to the Dees we do not deserve to be anywhere near finals.
Our players are professional and should bring the same defensive intesity against the Dees on the G to see how well the tweeked system works on the G

Agree with this

in: Harmes,
Out: VDM

Would like to see Jacques play but not sure at whose expense.

Friejah does look a bit tired but this is a real danger game and we have to play our best players. Melbourne looked good today - poor opposition but there players are way better than how they have performed- they would love to kill our season.

VFL game was a good game to watch the trajectory of our players:

BOG: Harmes/Hermes - was everywhere and a level above

Dolan: 3 goals but set up a few too. Was very good and has what McNeil doesn’t - poise, clean hands and good fast decision making. McNeil has been working hard and 3 goals as a small forward is a very good result but his performance under any pressure (like running into goal) I fear will hurt us when we least can afford it.

Hynes: just gets better every week. He is so strong for a first year player.

Jacques: was excellent - skills and class well above others.

Buku: kicked three goals and missed a few in another seemingly good performance but also showed why he is not in the team. On at least four occasions he should have taken a good mark on the lead but he didn’t go hard and waited to get an easy mark on his chest. He is a bit of mongrel away from being a real weapon.

Croft: best game - struggled in the ruck but he fights it out. Kicked three and missed a sitter that should have been four. Still thin but developing well.

Sellwood looks good as a hard small forward. Will be ready for G1 next year. Had a good solid game.

Walker has talent but is thin and haven’t seen enough - did a few things but wasn’t too involved.

Jones, Duryea, Coffield - really looked off the pace. Slowed and kicking power off- Coffield in particular had I think three bad kicks to opposition.

Artie tried hard and good pressure but still a little away. Smith was up against two - maybe not so great min the CB but beat them around the ground. So weird that he looks so much smaller?
Selwood played half back flank not forward.

Beware of Dees. Danger game.

Totally. Dees are a bogie team for us and we are playing them on their home ddeck. They still have a premiership midfield and Kosi Pickett who nobody in our team (or any other) is capable of containing fully. Completely arrogant attitude to think this will be a walk in the park.

Three to go WCE walk in the park please nobody mentions 2023, dees a should win but similar to the Crows last season and we lost. I think we are more trustworthy this season and will get it done although I would prefer, they did not have the embarrassing loss against the saints,

We are probably in better form than the dockers however they find a way win in close games where we have not got it done.

Don’t mention the “trepidation cup”?

I don’t know if anyone thinks we can just rock up and expect to walk it in. If we play anywhere near our best we roll them, that’s how I’m looking at it
