Travis King reporting that Masten is in doubt, didn’t train yesterday. He puts up Ah Chee as the likely inclusion but surely Mellen (better run of form) or Smith (more like-for-like) would be ahead of him.

Venables and Vardy are obvious outs. Really out of form, especially vards.
Hickey obvious in.
Rotham should come in for a defender. Cole, duggan and schoey all flirting with being dropped. Schoey survives due to structure so Rotham for either of the others.
MAllen for Venables even though it won't quite be the same role MA is used to.
In: Rotham, Hickey, MAllen
Out: Cole/Duggan, Vardy, Venables

He’s had a good couple of weeks since moving back to defence but I think Rotham would still be first in line if they chose to shift, say, Duggan up to the wing in Masten’s spot
hungrytiger with a big “I told you Masten would be dropped hahahaha...Lol” when Masten is out injured paying $1.38

I'm inclined to believe that most on here are correct about Masten's role in the side (defensive runner, provide an outlet, the odd i50, allow more/longer breaks to impact players, etc).
That leads me to conclude that if Masten misses, then Smith will be his replacement.
It won't be Matt Allen, and is unlikely to be Ah Chee. If past selections are anything to go by, Brander is probably more likely than either of those guys (with all of them behind Smith).
Only VFL, surely
Smitty will come in for marsden i reckon. He's marsden 2.0
Not sure they'll be putting Melon on a wing, he wouldn't have the tank. When he gets his chance it'll be high half-forward id imagine.
Neldog definitely won't be on a wing- he's a defender. And he's so far down the pecking order of importance he's rubbing shoulders with half of Freo's list.
You’d think so, but who knows - morale booster after a bad fortnight?
Nelson has been playing wing in the Beagles. Previously he was developing as a defender.
Turning Sheed into this role sounds counter productive..........massively counter productive.
He’s played in the backline against Souths last week and Claremont the week before. Not sure when the shift happened exactly, didn’t see the Subi game before that.
I like the mongrel part as this is what the team needs in our present form!I was going off some WAFL reports saying he was playing further up the ground which I think is his best position until he gains composure with experience.
If Nelson's built up his endurance I feel this defensive wing position Masten has now would suit him nicely. Has good closing speed good size, mongrel and a decent kick. A neat role player who would get the job done and not cost big $.
The premiership cupboard seems ok atm.
Are you for real?
