Love it how people saying Jaensch was ordinary and should have won his spot because the bulldogs forward line was non existent then go on to praise Talia and Laird, weren't they matched up to the same shit forward line?

Vince has played his last game for the club IMO. Will be a nice way to trade into the 2nd round this year. We're better off without him.
We are going to to get a 2nd rounder for a guy playing SANFL o_O if you want to increase his trade worth you don't do it by not playing him

Except that talia offered more both defensively, and more long kicking than jaensch, and laird was a débutant!

Sando's selection history suggests thast Porps will be dropped this week. Which is fine i think. he needs to go and find form. then he'll certainly be up for consideration again.

The question is who comes in. It'll be Smith if they think he's done enough work. Will be interesting if they want to run him in the SANFL one more time to make sure his body stands up.

The initial comment was that Jaensch wasn't our worst today and i don't think anyone can dispute that can they?

Worried is an understatement.

Speed Kills.

Im hoping its a dirty wet Melbourne day, it will mean more contested footy and reduce the effect of Carltons speedy forward line!

yeah. watching what Carlton did to west coast by bringing all their forwards up the ground and then running onto the ball kicked into an open forward line has always killed us. Even back in the Gary Ayres days Port would play us this way and cream us and then Sydney did it to us in the finals last year. Our lack of speed will hurt.

Lets hope not but signs aren't good. Stiffy has probably signed his own death warrant by requesting a move to the forward line. Still one of my favorite Crows players of all time. This week we have the added bonus of effectively ending Carlton's season.

OUT: Jaensch, McKay
IN: Smith, Lyons

Have a bad feeling Big Tex could be in doubt this week.

OUT: Laird, Thompson (susp)
IN: Smith, ?

As i recall, Arnfield burnt us last time. What do we do to stop him this time?

Rory Laird - seek and destroy!
NAB Cup? He burnt patty.

I think based on todays game it will be Smith for Laird.

Smith, Brown and Jaensch to be the small defenders.

However I would like to see Smith for Jaensch and give Laird a go at one of Carltons small forwards to see how he goes.

I dont think much else will/should change but I wouldn't mind if Lyons came in for Kerridge/Mackay/Porps

You really think thommo will be suspended? I assume you're thinking of the incident with goodes.

I didn't think there was much in that tbh. Thompson was heading to tackle, when goodes turned sharply before thommo could react. The raised arm came after the fact.

Shouldn't get anything for it, hopefully. Certainly no malice involved.

Replays seem to show he didnt even get the head. If it was elbow to head players would have been blood, players would have remonstrated.

I totally agree.....but he plays for the crows not collingwood.....:(

Another good game from Jaensch that's 3 from 4. Still expect every second post to call for his head  Won't happen.Defence worked well togethor today just need Reilly to find form and its looking good.
That was easily his best game of the year today, there is no way he's getting dropped and nor does he deserve to. Actually, it was probably his best game in a couple of season tbh.

Jaensch was pretty okay today, but he hasn't been good in 3 out of 4. Smith is a better player anyway so he should come in for him.
No, Laird should go out for Smith, as you don't just keep someone else in because they are younger. Jaensch was very good today I thought, and played a significantly better game than Laird.

I would also bring in Lyons for the Porpoise, but not sure if the selectors are leaning that way or not.

I didnt think Jaensch was too bad today. Certainly wasn't our worst.
He certainly doesn't deserve to go out of the side before Reilly, Mackay or Laird. He was much better than all three of those guys today, and his season actually hasn't been that bad. But, he seems to be a whipping boy on here, so not much I say will be positively received. Luckily the coaches are seeing what he can bring to the side.

We know Jaensch's defensive deficiencies. Carlton in their current form are a different beast to the one we faced in the NAB cup.

Putting Jaensch on Garlett or Yarran is asking for serious trouble. Smith is much better defensively, even if he is a step slower. I would much rather Smith on one of those two than Jaensch.
I would also much rather Jaensch on those two that Laird. Jaensch did well on Garlett in the pre season, so no reason he can't keep his good form up next week.

People on here hate it when the coaches don't reward good form, but then want guys like Jaensch dropped after being in the top dozen for us today, doesn't make sense.

You do realize Smith would be close to our fastest player?

I can not see Lyons coming in until a role in the team opens up.

And I doubt Vince will come back until he can prove he has overcome his weakness and learn to follow team rules and team guidelines. Listen to the press conference, I feel Sando send a direct message to him and Stiffy.
I heard that too, Sando saying he doesn't like players who break team ethos.
