The way Essendon match up with us defensively is going to be interesting. Gwilt is probably their best defender and I'm pretty sure he's sub 190cm.

The way we've been finishing games lately, we'll need to be ten goals up at 3/4 time to win it, despite the matchups.

I actually fancyour chances forward this week. Those three plus Weller with his acurate kicking for goal to crumb off them sounds good

Notice I didn't mention Ballas? He's the one who needs to step up. A player who can swing momentum quickly and get the crowd roaring. Gee I miss the old Ballas

Big time. He's needed to step up for near on 18 months now. I feel when/if Mayne heads off next season he will become the new whipping boy and rightly so if current form continues.

It is, however, refreshing being able to say "Weller" now when talking about our forward line.

Weller may never be a big possie getter but he sure knows how to kick a goal

Hey guys
just wondering how good Tucker's job security is, and what role exactly does he play? Is he a midfielder?

Cheers

Yes your forwards can definately exploit our lack of height down back. Ambrose - 193, Gwilt - 188, Dea - 186. Although there is word that one of our emergencies - Sam Michael who is 199 might play and he'd play on the Ape you'd assume....
should be a good game - both teams will want to win for sure

You already won one, don't really need this one.

Trivia fact : Dean Margetts was best man at Dean Cox's wedding.

Ah that makes sense, I was wondering why Cox was strutting about with his hands in the air appealing for kicks ?.

Showing his skills off to Deany Margetts.

thought it was a little bit harsh to drop De Boer.. seemed ok last week? I do admit though he needs to aim for minimum of 20 possessions per game and keep his tackling up.

C'mon.man. you can not be serious. I've been reading all week from people who are abviously experts in the field that both teams will be gong hell for leather to lose this one. I can see both side rushing behinds for the other. Giving away frees for intentional forced behinds and turning it over as they miss from point blank!

Chipping it backwards from the centre only to turn it over in th D50 (actually ignore that one both teams unintentionally are doing that anyway)

I i hope we win, or should that be you win. I'm confused. I need a lie down cos I'm all tanked out.

Right. You called Taberner shit and it has rung true?
And you've called Langdon bland, even though his main weapon is his leg speed?
Apparently having zero football knowledge equates me with Chris Bond?

How the hell did you get into university? Do you go to a university for dumb arses who can't think good? Or did your daddy pay fees for you to get in?
I'll spell it out for you.

Taberner = is shit. People are starting to realise. He's played 30 games and was struggling even last year when the side was winning. He's frigid, and timid, and has minimal confidence. He is flailing.

Langdon = is bland. So what if he has great 'leg speed' (why can't you call it, simply, speed? Where else is he going to use speed in Aussie Rules? In fact, tell me a sport where speed doesn't relate to your legs...)? He can still be bland. His size is average. His skills aren't solid enough and refined enough to play as a killer winger, he isn't tough enough or an accumulator to be a rover, and he looks forever doomed to sit in the Sheridan/Crozier pointlessness of the perennial half-forward flanker. I look at the guy and don't see the natural smarts of Blakely, who follows up every handball with a run or shepherd, and has great natural running instincts. I don't see the hardness of Brady Grey and the intent of him. And Weller is simply way more refined, runs his guts out, gives a shit, never gives up, but has a solid tackling game as well as his obvious offensive skills (nice kick, likes a goal).

Zero football knowledge. Well Chris Bond has no idea how to manage a list. His barometers for keeping or cutting someone is all over the place... you look at Suban, Clanger, DeBoer, and see players who are over the hill in a rebuilding team who were never even that good to begin with. You fail to acknowledge the chances of Taberner becoming a genuine, 10 year full forward as small, and then you tick the recruitment of the kind of mediocrity and stupidity we've had for six years. I'm just saying, you blindly defend Fremantle and simply don't like me because I reckon the guys you like are ****ing shit. You both have the same skewed opinion on bad players, and both accepting dead-end mediocrity.

And uni is piss easy to get into these days.

I don't think anyone here is calling Langdon a superstar by any means! at the end of the day he was pick 54 in the draft and the fact that he is even getting a game is a bonus. He continually racks up 25 possessions a game at WAFL level which is bloody good considering where he was drafted.
For us as a club to be successful we need to pick up players who add depth to the club, as in the past the difference between our best 5-6 to the rest of the team the gap has been massive. It is so so important to build depth and by drafting players later in the draft who are showing signs I think is great. No Langdon is never going to be a star but hey he kicked two goals last week and got just as many possessions and Weller did.
As for Taberner again no one expects him to be a superstar but the improvement is promising and in a season where there hasn't been a massive amount to cheer about it is great to see.
