Most teams get away with one like that.

Blakey isn't a defender. Neither's Amon really. Or Whitfield. Noble. Dale.
It works when you have a structured team zone defence when the half backs get on their bikes their player is covered by someone else. We just cant do it. We are basic

Dawson to be moved to a primary defender (with only pinch hitting in the ruck).

Out: Darling (rest), Blamires and L Mac

In: Whitlock, Hards and Coop

Assume you have never actually watched them play. All of them are solid defenders, Colby is not. Also glad we are taking players who can hit a target inside 50 away, doing a bang up job so far
There's only two sides in the comp that take more marks inside 50 per i50 entry than us.

You can play Colby as a HB if we also play Hardeman instead of Daniel, you can have both flankers being incapable of defending anything

Just get Hardeman in.
I don't think Harvey will work at AFL level but may as we'll try. At least he has a touch of class by foot. Something we sadly need back there.
Again just laughable really - leaving Riley out of the past 3 games as Mannah, Papley and Rankin tear us a new one on a weekly basis.

'He needs more game time'...and then select Riley as game day emergency so that he misses a week of footy.

The football department couldn't be anymore incompetent in how it has approached the past 3 games from a selection and match up perspective in the back half.

Fun fact.

There have been nearly 90 million posts on BF over the course of its lifetime.

Across the myriad of wild opinions that have surfaced over the years, not a single one has attempted to combine the words "solid defender" alongside "Whitfield" in a sentence.

The closest I could find was in an old 2022 SC thread:

"Whitfield giving me ulcers. Here I was thinking he was a safe solid defender pick."

While it might sound a good idea to rest Darling why would you do it when we have a bye the week after..we may as wait till then.

The last game of 2024 was 50x worse than yesterday. The game before that was worse too.

We had 10 goal losses in 2020 that were worse. Where we played the whole game like the second quarter and it was only the shrotened games that stopped the loss being twice as heavy - 20 goals. Josh bruce kicked 10 goals on Good Friday once. About 30 games in 2022 that were worse too.
What you have to remember ferbs is that in 2020 and around that period we had just started our rebuild given a year or two, of course we've had bigger losses but in total context of things fast forward six years and having talented players in our team and getting games into them and different coaches and staff {we've had Alastair for a while now and its good, we needed stability in that area as well as a great coach to help us} Saturday there was no excuse to get beaten like that, with the crows starting line up we had a chance to at least go close but what followed was terrible.

The only thing I can think of is that they finished on top of the ladder last year for a reason and maybe they showed they are about to wake up after an average start to the year. We are not still rebuilding, we are not still learning game plans and we are not the baby team of 2020, 21, 22, 23 and 24, we are better and the chances this year to beat the the three best teams in the competition show this regardless of the result, we still have a way to go but we are on the right track and I'm sure the next game against the powerful Suns line up will provide answers to some of these questions. If I'm any sort of a judge, we will go very close to winning this game if not it will go down to the wire, Saturday we will find out.

Hrmmm

This turnover by Powell triggered 3 goals in a row to Port Melbourne and they kicked 6 of the next 7. Senior player

Don’t even know wtf Cooper was trying to do

We had worse losses than that under Pagan in 1996.

I agree with the bolded but its not the end of the world.

Alot depends on how we respond this week and after the bye.

We are still the baby side you're talking about. Our midfield is mostly made up of players who were drafted after the 2022 season. At one point LDU was the only player who was drafted pre 2022. Those guys are still immature and a bigger more mature Adelaide midfield beat them up. They had one player under 22 - Dawson who is unit. We had eight including three twenty year olds and a nineteen year old. Six of those eight played some time in the midfield.

X had a poor game and was unable to be the inside beast he has been which didn't help them.

LDU was exposed by Dawson (and has been by Yeo in the past) as being a bit physically soft too.

They were minor premiers last year and, as a bunch of other posters pointed out, they went into the game with a small side while we were too tall. That and the extra at stoppage were real issues for us. That's on the coaching staff and selectors.

Plus the two separate contents of the smoking ceremony. Obviously had chamomile or something in ours cos we went to sleep halfway thru the first quarter.

We've seen Powell 99 times, pass.

Disagree.

I need to see him one more time cos we’re not missing a gun father son in 2046 due to our bloody mindedness.

Bloke does has stupid haircut pics for official photo's. Not a serious footballer. Imagine his parenting skills.

2nd rounder thanks Poo-oort.

Lmac has to be dropped and never to return.
He’s finished and he probably knows it.
That play where Rachelle just toyed with him and keys kicked the goal off the ground - showed everything he is now. A scragger and not much else

Out: Logue, McDonald, Daniel, Darling (rest)

In: Pink, Hardeman, Harvey, Whitlock

Really wish it was Goater coming in instead of Harvey though. Dawson to play more key back with Trembath providing the relief ruck.

Powell absolutely does not deserve to come back in after the dogshit 2nd half he had in the VFL.

B: Hardeman, Dawson, Pink
HB: Parker, Comben, Harvey
C: Stephens, Wardlaw, Blamires
HF: Sheezel, Larkey, McKercher
F: Curtis, Trembath, Duursma
Foll: Xerri, LDU, FOS
Int: Whitlock, Simpkin, Zurhaar, Spargo, Konstanty

And yet we 12th with an anchor, shocking.
We'll be fine once we get back to our division which is League 2.

We're battling away in the Championship as it stands.

I'd just go Dawson out and Hardeman in.
Umm how about no?

You have options galore that don't happen to be young KPP (who we need to continue to develop).

How about "Daniel, my lover"?

I don't feel the same..

Spargos > George
McDonald > Hardeman
Daniels > Mikunda
Konstantys > Dovaston
Logues > Whitlock
Darling > Goad
Zurhaars > Goater
Stephens > Urquhart

B: Parker-Comben-Sheezel
H:Goater-Dawson-Hardeman
C: McKercher-LDU-Blamires
HF: Curtis-Whitlock-George
F: Duursma-Tremba-Larkey
R: Goad-O'Sullivan-Wardlaw
IC: Mikunda-Simpkin-Urquhart-Xerri-Dovaston

Em: Pink Urquhart Darling

Last chance saloon what have we got?
