Both McKernan and Kerridge played well. Kerridge did have one horrible turnover. I think it was in the 3rd q. I can't see either of them being dropped. Crouch or Martin for Wright. Wright needs to regain touch in the twos.

Unbelievable, our best KPF will miss the next 12 months and all of a sudden some on this board accept mediocre performances. Smack did not play well, he did a few good things but he did not play well over the entire game.

He is lazy and his work ethic off the ball is terrible.

If he does not significantly improve on this he will remain what he is today, an average player.
These are excuses and this type of performance would not have been accepted if Tex was still in the team.

You're right we're better. And we proved that last year. We've also proven we're better than Adelaide quite a few times. I'm not trying to be a smartarse but if the shoe fits.
I don't think you have to be worried about being seen as a smartarse, seeings as you missed the point completely. :thumbsu:

Crouch for Wright at this stage IMO. Wright has gone slightly backwards and could do for a run with the *****. Hendo for Jenkins if he doesn't get up. He's having scans tomorrow.
Really? I wonder why he played the rest of the game then

 Here we go again with the mediocre card.............. and the "I'm a better fan because I am a tough judge".

Fair enough if you don't rate his game, but the "accepting mediocrity" card is old and worn out. Most didn't expect even this much from Smac and given he has had no time in the Seniors pretty much last year he hasn't had much opportunity to develop his game. An inexperienced player standing up to be counted but comes up with some deficiencies is a lot different to a gun player continually being played despite mediocre form.....

McKernan was really poor off the ball. Let his man run off him very easily. He really doesn't work hard enough defensively. It's always very evident from the stands.
He's doing enough... just... in an attacking sense to stay in the side, but his defence would probably see him out of the side if he wasn't so structurally important. We look a better side when Jenkins can stay at home, and Jacobs has someone half-decent as a backup (Jenkins is a woeful ruckman.) Due to lack of other options, McKernan really has to stay until our current structure begins failing.
Kerridge, unless he's near goals, sucks with the ball in hand. He's Michael Doughty like in his ability to hold up play when he marks the ball. Takes an eternity to make a (regularly poor) decision. He was, however, sticking close to Fisher, and played that role quite well. I wouldn't drop him this week, but he has a LOT to work on. He's young. He'll get better.

unchanged for mine, wright sub, porps starts. i think smack is just too important for structure now, he stays. im backing the kid in for a big game against the roos.

massive game, we gets 4 points there we are well and truly back amoungst it.

First game I've seen in a few weeks. I forgot McKernan was on the ground after 1/4 time, and when I did see him he seemed very lazy. How's big Angus Graham doing? He is actually a structurally acceptable alternative to McKernan.

Re: Jenkins, "played out the game and seemed fine" doesn't mean anything with regard to next week. Aside from the fact that it would have been hurting like a son of a bitch once he cooled down after the game, recall our own Brodie Martin "played out the game and seemed fine" on a ruptured ACL that knocked him out for 12 months.

Interestingly enough, we have beaten them at Metricon stadium

That would have been the old Carrara rather than Metricon.

Should be a very good game. I think the home ground advantage should get us over the line. Correspondingly, if it was at your joint, you'd be clear favourites.

I'm surprised Ian Perrie wasn't kept on the rookie list just to be wheeled out against us for his mandatory six match winning goals.

HENDERSON needs to come in for Wright. North have blown us away with their pace and intensity in recent years. Let Henderson take Dangerfields forward role. He offers what Danger offers there; pace, a marking target and pressure. Put Danger into the center where he belongs for the whole game.

If Porp's is to stay it should be as super-sub. That seems his position these days. I would be more than happy for Crouch, however. We do need to get AFL footy into him.

I think JJ should be OK. Moved pretty well once he recovered (although scans will tell more). If we have dodged a bullet here we can be very thankful. Shows just how vulnerable a team is.

If we are going to play Graham, we may as well forfeit and get the players a week of rehab

I've been hoping Smack would get his shit together for the past few years, but he's only still around because he's got a famous surname. He's our Brett Ebert.
