Get Hendo out. He's a bloody fringe player and yet gets the same treatment as our captains. Surely we can find someone else to completely fail defensively and bomb it 50 meters to the opposition. We have no shortage of blokes who can play the valuable 'third man up who completely misses every spoil he attempts' role.

Rutten can not do ANY worse than ****ing Sam Shaw.

I know he's just about done for but North have tall, powerful forwards. He needs to play IMO. For experience and strength. LT and Shaw will get absolutely destroyed if they both play next week.

My change for the game v North

Mackay OUT (inj) - Kerridge IN (Roo destroyer back)
Henderson OUT (omit) - Thompson IN

Rutten, M. Crouch & Laird on the table with Shaw, Thompson or Wright on notice.

Kerridge has to come in and no doubt Thommo will after a 2 week break. Mackay is the easy out and I think one of poor performing players really needs to take a break going into a vital game v North. Hendo has been poor 3 weeks in a row and we need form going into North not a guy that needs more games. I think we have to back in the other players to come back however as we don't have depth to make too many changes at this point and this game isn't the one to play a young guy (Atkins). We need a big game out of Smith next week as he was kept to 9 touches v Richmond. Talia, Brown and Jaensch were good enough for the most part tonight but w/o Smiths run and ball use we really struggled (Hendo/Shaw & Thompson aren't gonna scare opp teams). Cameron piked up in the last and seems to need confidence to start playing well but I'd keep him in still as his pressure and 2nd efforts put most of the team to shame. We may need Rutten in to help the defense but apart from Petrie and the resting ruckman there isn't a matchup I see. Maybe a sub target for a speedy guy off the bench. Grigg given a chance out on the wing to start the match in place of Mackay might be a good idea (since they hardly ever use Smith in the midfield).

Really wish we had a backup ruck that could put pressure on Jenkins spot. Yes Jenkins is our 2nd highest goalkicker but has someone looked at the amount of goals he has gotten through his own hard work or contests? If he isn't kicking a goal it seems we never see him do anything else useful. I know Pods has his haters and he sure has some standout brain fades (snap the other week and his OotF this wk etc) but he has 3 times as much influence on the game (arbitrary number) than Jenkins when not goal kicking. Sure the FWD structure seems messy with all 3 playing but Tex is as good as he will be for this season now and can handle himself well. If we don't need 3 talls there (we do only because of ruck situation) then Jenkins surely would have to be under the pump. He did well with no Pods last week but Brodie Martin looked like a gun vs them too. And sure - take pods out - are we really confident of Jenkins ability to add to the team as a big target/contested machine that Pods has offered most weeks? Point is regardless of Jenkins and Pods we really meed that next ruck capable backup player to put pressure on their spots. Inc Pods haters hate. If they can read more than one sentence

Wright - disposal ordinary & holds up play rather than quickly moving ball on. Again out of form.


Potential outs:
Shaw - if you can't kick then you can't play afl! Not sure we have any first replacements for someone who kicked the ball out on the full 3 times!
Grigg - lacking game time as sub 3 consecutive games.
