Quite like the look of this team, but i think West is still suffering from a knee injury (medial I think), so I'd put Cavarra in for a second game.

If Trengrove wasn't considered for selection when the opposition had Mason Cox (the perfect match-up for him) it's hard to see him getting a look in..

Surely he is a better option than Gardner, and Trengove is capable of chopping out in the ruck, with Cordy coming off interchange for Key Defence

I think most of us would agree with Trengove over Gardner, but it doesn't seem like Bevo feels the same.

He said in a Q and A on Facebook he had an ankle complaint, so I wonder if the decision to leave him out was not purely on form or match-ups...

I hope so, his fall from grace in Bevo’s eyes seems perplexing. He’s no world beater but structurally he makes a lot of sense to me.

Going to assume Naughton is out if his knee is still giving him trouble. I'd be taking Gardner and Young out too. We went in way too tall as it is, and those two played atrocious against Collingwood.

Sweet and Trengove in. Richards and Lipinski should be finding their way into the side too.

Could even see Gardner surviving another week, and both Sweet + Trengove missing out. This Saints game is a worry for me tbh, we are going to be so outclassed by their wings of Billings and Hill

You’re replacing two talls with two talls.

Three for two. Naughts, Gardner, and Young all out.

Ahh yep 👍

Personally I’m not sure Trenners comes in. Saints don’t have big stay at home fwds so I can see us going in with an unchanged defence.
I’m not keen to see Sweet playing too many minutes in the 1’s yet but if Naughts doesn’t play I wouldn’t be too unhappy to see him in to free up English inside 50 for a while.
The issue I do have with that though is that Sweet isn’t great around the ground so unless we don’t see English in the middle too often, Sweet could become a big liability.

I know there's been some talk about an extended bench, and if that's the case and we have 5 or 6 on the interchange, I wouldn't mind Sweet being one of them. Our ruck situation is interesting. English isn't physical, Trengove isn't fast, and Sweet doesn't have a tank.

An extended bench would be amazing for us. Means we can play Sweet to back up English and suddenly our ruck situation actually looks decent instead of bottom tier.

I'm certain (barring injury) we'll see Lipinski and Richards back in regardless. Could be Naughton and someone else out, those two in. Gardner and Young may both get lucky. Both are more mobile than Trengove and Sweet anyway which will suit facing Saints since they're a fairly mobile team.

Membrey and King up forward won't be too much trouble for our interceptors I'd like to think, so Trengove may not be needed. Young can match up on King, Cordy on Membrey, then we have Keath and Wood being able to intercept

Sweet won't need a tank with 15 minute quarters

Outclassed and saints in the same sentence?

If we are any good at all we beat them and do it easy, but that being said round 1 was a massive worry for me so who knows what we will serve up ?
