Time to give Jetta a full run in the reserves in my opinion...
Maybe something like this:

In: JJ, NLM (if fit)
Out: Jetta, Dyson

Out : Hird (rest), Laycock, Dyson, Jetta
In : Bradley, Gumbleton, NLM, Camporeale

Hird needs to be rested for Anzac Day.

Laycock was woeful on Saturday and as St Kilda have mainly run-with ruckman he might be obsolete anyway. Bradley to follow Blake around the ground.

Gumbleton becomes the 3rd tall in attack.

Dyson and Jetta dropped to make way for some experience in NLM and Campo.

Don't be surprised if Lucas doesn't play either !!!

what do you mean dont be suprised if Lucas gets dropped!!! Every game of the season is just as important as another. If we beat the saints, we get 4 points and if we win on anzac day, we get 4 points. Plus I think instead of bradley coming in, we can play someone like Johns or houli ect..

Did I say Lucas would get dropped ?

Houli isn't ready for senior football yet.

Out: Heffernan
In: Johns

As previously stated Hirdy may be rested but id say it would just be a very very light work load...

Wouldnt surprise me to see Hirdy given a rest this week to get him up for the ANZAC Day blockbuster.

Why drop Heffernan? He played a very good game yesterday. Used the ball well and got a bit of it (18 possies) despite limited game time. I actually thought he was in our best half dozen yesterday.

Why would we rest Hird for Anzac Day?

St.Kilda is a flag contender, and should be a more difficult opponent (on paper) than Collingwood.

If Hird has to miss a game it should be Anzac Day. We want our best available team this week agaisnt one of the AFL's best teams, remembering that the 4 day break won't matter because BOTH teams have that same 4 day break.

IMO, if Camporeale and JJ are fit.

In: J Johnson, Camporeale, NLM
Out: Dyson, Heffernan, Jetta

I just find it hard to get Johns into the side, especially with Lloyd and Lucas both there and Hille and Laycock both options up forward.

Jetta has been good, but either Davey or Jetta needs to have a hit-out against lesser opponents. Can't drop them both, or we'll lose that new-found pace.

Possibly bring in Houli or Hislop if one the Ins I mentioned doesn't come up!

I think Johns will come in for Laycock. The saints dont have a particularly big backline, it is very much mobile. Lloyd and Lucas to play around half forward, only due to Johns' lack of versatility at this stage.

For other changes, Id bring in Johnson, and give Campo another week in the ressies. Id doubt NLM will be right for this week. Jetta would probably make way.

I hope Davey has a better game this week, really looked out of sorts when the game was on the line in the 3rd qtr yesterday.

Just thinking about defencive matchups, Id have Paddy on Kosi, Mal on Fraser and Fletch on Rooey.

As for Hird, Id just seriously manage him this game or keep him as a permanent forward and let him loose against the pies

Give Jetta another week.
Calling for Laycock to be dropped is wrong. He needs to play a string of games in a row . Didnt have a great game yesterday but he wasnt horrible.
As for brining guys back for Anzac day a few point to remember. Collingwood will also be coming off the same break. Bendigo actually play on the Sunday before Anzac day so anyone who is saved for the seniors probably wont get to play a game that weekend.
I think Hird is the only big chance to be rested against the Saints.

I doubt Hird will be rested against the Saints.

H ewould probably only play about half anyway.

So actually having said that, perhaps resting could be a good option, as they could bring in a player who could have more game time.

But dropping Hird in his last season, or dropping Hird full stop, just desn't seem right....He certianly wouldn't like it!

Dont get me wrong, im not dropping Laycock for having a bad game, its purely for matchups. I too want to see him play 15 + games this year and for him to get some confidence at AFL level.

In: Johns, NLM
Out: Hird (rest), Laycock

Hird needs a rest before his last Anzac Day Game... and would give him a 10 day break both sides.

Johns kicked 7 in the VFL today and St Kilda have players like Blake who play in the ruck and are too mobile for players like Laycock. Also this will stretch the Saints injury plagued backline (missing Hudghton and Maguire) with 3 key forwards.

If NLM doesn't recover from his injury, play Tom Hislop. Another solid game in the VFL today with his tackling and hardness at the ball. Also kicked 2 goals. Clearly the type of player we were lacking in the 2nd half against the Blues.

Laycock is more mobile than Hille.

I don't get it, St Kilda don't have a great ruck outfit at the moment and we want to drop one. How bout trying to exploit a weakness?

St Kilda aren't that quick either, how bout we drop Winderlich, Stanton, Lovett, Davey and Jetta?

Another solid game?? it was his first game.

In - Johns, Johnson
Out - Hird (As people are saying rest him) Jetta or Dyson

I want Johns in mainly because of a good performance for bendigo... sort as a reward, i would rest jetta because i want him running around like a mad man on anzac (I am aware this would mean him not playign for bendigo that week, but i don't think that will matter too much.

Hislop was outstanding for Bendigo, so does anyone think he is ready to play AFL yet? Is it possible he could play this week? I think we've been lacking a bit of grunt in the midfield with JJ out and Hislop might just be able to give us a bit of grunt on the midfield. Macca is exactly right, we lacked someone like hard at it like Hislop and they just kept on getting clear, quick centre clearences continuesly which enabled Fev to kick 8.
