Will be hard to make any changes other then the ones forced. There a atleast 6 senior players that deserve some hard truths though.
My only wish (I'm well aware it won't happen) is that we overlook those in the twos who are known to be not capable, underdone, or past it.

Out: JOD, Lobb, Darcy, Libba, Croft?
In: Buss, Carmichael, Smith, Dolan, Cleary

FB. Sellwood Buss Emmett
HB. Dale Khamis Jaques
C. Williams MKennedy Baker
HF. Sanders Naughton Bramble
FF. West Lewis Davidson
R. Smith Bont Richards
INT Carmichael Hynes Freijah Dolan Cleary

Yes.

Time to give L Smith a shot.

He's our only remaining genuine ruckman fit and he's not awful. In fact been very solid for most games he's played.

I didn’t watch the VFL but based on the stats Smith appears to have been beaten in the ruck by Rhys Stanley and the Cats backup to the backup. And so far this year hasn’t offered much outside of the ruck at that level.

We won the clearances last night anyway. And I don’t think Smith will do any better than Emmett at AFL level. I think Emmett has shown a lot, he’s better than Smith in other roles, and if anything he’s more competitive than English was at the same age. We just have to ruck Lobb until Tim is back and Busslinger or Gardner have to come in as a KPD and we have to wear that for a week or two. It’s not like Lobb set the world on fire as a KPD last night.

If Darcy is out for 12 months then a season of AFL for Emmett and Croft as forwards and backup rucks has to be the silver lining.

Number one priority is if anyone is sore or not 100% just rest them. We're getting smashed by 50 regardless. Right now we need to recoup and hope we can get things ticking again after the Freo game. No chance we aren't 4-4 by then no matter what we do.

Time to experiment with the backline. Gardner and Buss in. Last chance saloon for Gardner who we inexplicably pumped games into for 2 years until he got to the point of being almost serviceable, signed up for 3 years then sent him into semi retirement in the VFL.

Give Smith a chance in the ruck. Hard to think of a harder 2 game stretch for his style than Grundy into Jackson but it's got to be better than what we've seen the last two weeks and again, who cares we're getting belted anyway just give the guy a chance. Even if English is around about ready to go just give him more time and get him right.

Out: Libba, JOD, Lobb, Darcy, Hynes, Corft (assuming that shoulder isn't 100%)
In: VDM, Treloar, Dolan, Smith, Buss, Gardner

Busslinger Gardner Sellwood
Dale Khamis Bramble
Williams Kennedy Baker
Freijah Naughton VDM
Dolan Lewis Emmett
Smith Bont Richards

Jaques Treloar Sanders Davidson West

You'd expect English to be back before Lobb now anyway. English would have played last night if it was a grand final, he's not too far off. Lobb will be a few weeks with that hammy.

In fairness I stopped watching. Not because of the injuries but because my lady friend arrived .
Good call bresker. Ay least one of us had a decent night...

If we’re going to have a horrific injury run it may as well be for games we were only at best a 50% chance of winning anyway. We’re losing the next two, the question is just whether we are competitive or not.

If we still have this injury list in three weeks when we start playing poor or middle of the road sides like Port, Carlton, Melbourne and Collingwood and drop any of those games, it’s all over for 2026 for us.

I did watch the game, and the Essendon game live, Smith at the moment is significantly better and moment than Emmett in the ruck. He was more than competetive in ruck contests against their rucks. What the stats show is when he wasn't rucking there is no back up at VFL level and thats when they dominated hit outs.

English is back before Lobb, who with Darcy out is the obvious forward ruck. Was for this weeks game too and not Lewis. You cannot play Emmett and Croft in the same team at the moment, way to underdeveloped we are playing a player down with them both in.

Where to start... For those saying Lewis out, Bevo specifically mentioned him in his presser saying now is his chance to get some AFL football under his belt so safe to say he will be staying in.

This is a concerning mindset.

In what world would the team have not been significantly stronger with Lobb as forward/Ruck who could go back if things went bad, Buss down back and Lewis in the VFL.

Even this week putting Williams and Bont more forward adds more opportunity to Lewis

We've seen this story before.

Nothing against Lewis but we've seen Bevo get hard ons for random VFL standard players before. There has to be some sort of psychology behind it.

As Dogs fans, this is now the 10th straight season of dealing with the same repeat issues. Mind boggling.

Did Bevo even watch the game Lewis hardly touched it and when he did he just stuffed everything up nowhere near AFL standard.

What is the story with Libba is it the end the road. When he had his last concussion a couple years ago it was said one more and he would be forced to retire. At the end of the game, he was the only one not in the guard of honour for Blicavs, even San was there.

Simply have to play Smith. He’s not ready but can’t possibly run Emmett with only Croft/Lewis chopping out.

OUT: Darcy, JOD, Lobb, Libba
IN: Smith, Buss, Carmichael, Treloar (will probably give him more time and bring in McNeil instead let’s be serious)

Deck chairs on the titanic for this week anyway, we aren’t getting within 10 goals of Sydney

we are too emotional as a team. If you look at all the best teams, they don't get caught up in anything; they just keep it moving, which we fail to do as a team. I love Bevo, but at some point you need to realise that footy is a big enough mental toll as it is and it doesn't need the constant highs and lows that this bevo team seems to undergo. if you want consistency, as he says he does, you need to be able to keep the metaphorical emotional barometer between 40-60% at all times and not the heroin overdose 110% percent after a crazy win and the come down -110% after a deflating loss. Otherwise you literally become what the blues have been for the last quarter century. Rant over.

Just in shock over the fact that we started 4-0 and after losing 2 straight, we are most likely going to see Gardner, VDM and McNeil named to take on the most in form team in the comp.

What the **** did we do to deserve this.
