Fair enough DW maybe not most,

Although there’s a fair few that constantly drown out threads attacking his fitness levels whenever his name is brought up. I don’t even have a view on this so it’s not just that it’s contrary to mine, I just find it funny when people are so adamant that he can’t run out a game, based on what exactly? Some TOG% from 2020? Hardly relevant, McComb can run out a game just fine - yet he only played 50% TOG last game he played, there’s other factors at play here too.

So unless they have insider knowledge on his GPS data from training/VFL I just find it to be a bit strange how often this gets brought up as a fact
I’m sure it will have been on his list of things to work on over the last couple of years. Seems much better in this area than when he debuted.

That’s your first decent post in years.

You’ve been in a rut of Beverage size proportions.
Don't pick on

Don't pick on ScragCity. He is our beloved troll.

Our season to date and chances of winning has basically been reliant on The Bont and Tim with a bit of help from others not always the same players. This week is no different we need big games from both again with Liam doing an important job on Charlie, Bailey to play his best game and the forward line kicking straight.

It does feel like the blues season is on the line and you expect a response this week so I am expecting it will be tough one to win.

Our historical patterns of performance would suggest that there is nothing surer than a loss this week.
  • Three straight wins by reasonable margins
  • Heat has come off us from media
  • Poor match up against opponent (McKay and Curnow especially)
  • Opponent copping lots of heat.
They will come out red hot and under these circumstances we often come out flat-footed. Against their key forwards we can't afford for that to happen.

We've done well to arrest shifts in momentum of late. This is another chance for this team to show that they're different from what's come before. Hopefully we're up to the challenge.

All valid points. Interesting to see if we step up to the mark. Carlton’s recent record against us is very good.

Jones is a good matchup for Curnow and Gardner also seems a good match up for Harry.

Even without Treloar I still think we win the midfield battle and I like Naughton v Young. Weitering probably needs to play on Lobb and McGovern on JUH or Buku is a match up I also like.

On paper, you would think this game is ours, but I’m expecting Carlton’s absolute best and if we are slightly off our game like last week, I can’t see us winning.

Weightman and three talls is probably not efficient. When they all want to mark.
Maybe not this week as Jamarra may be out.But Weightman flying for marks on the wing and further up the ground would be more useful.l think with Arty and McNeil forward, we can be more daring with Weightman.

I get the logic behind this and it's worth a try, bit I suspect that Cody's elite talent is to convert opportunities. Some players are natural forwards who give maximum value inside the 50.

I'm not sure we are scoring heavily enough to move out a guy who regularly scores 2-3 goals a game.

Anyone who doesn't think Buka has a big future at the dogs can't read the way the game is going. You need to be more athletic than ever and do things at speed, hit packs, jump high, good reaction speed. All things Buka is capable of. I've been banging on about him for years now.

Next time he gets his chance I think he will take it. Personally I think that should be in defence, yet I want him in the side either way.

The side must improve from where they currently are and its guys like Buka, Arty Jones (another I said would make it in the exact role he is playing) Bendendo and Cleary who we should be looking at. These are the guys with real growth in them rather then plenty on our list which are already at peak or are limited role type players.

Should this be the Jones/Young cup rather than just the game day thread title of the Liam Jones cup. I think if a lot of bulldogs bigfooty posters had their way it would have been just the Liam Jones cup and Gardner would have been the one looking for a third club.

I’m going to viciously boo Lewis Young, who’s in?

Hearing James O'Donnell to debut
Wot hahaha no wayyyy, I mean honestly I’m down for it but that would be crazy - I trust your info as usual though

He was comfortably our best defender in the ~2 vfl games I watched so I mean maybe not that surprising but that would be a roaring success for a bloke not on a list a month into the season 😂

In my eyes, as a fan of my beloved red white and blue, this week is as important as Carltons. This IS the type of game we always lose with Bevo. Winning this would give me great belief in this group and no doubt serve our team well for belief too!!!
